Decent rye beer enjoyed at the brewpub.Reddish with a white head. Sweet-spiciness from the rye, its above average characteristic of rye. Drinkable, so hits the mark in the style. Be-a 4800
0.8 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20 baril (3) - Alabama, USA - AUG 12, 2010 does not count
Very ordinary, and as most of the beers from the same brewery, leaves a slightly unpleasant taste on the tongue afterwards.

Drank on tap (14 oz) at there brewpub on August 5, 2010. Red caramel, medium head. Aroma of rye malt, a little spicy. Taste of malted rye a little dry, aftertaste a bit bitter and dry. Not your typical red ale!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Lubiere (6979) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 27, 2009
A hazy dark amber beer with a thick light brown reddish head. A pleasant grainy and grassy malt aroma. In mouth, a nice cool and refreshing sweet malt with rye bread, abit of cloves and esters, very smooth. On tap at Mondial 2009.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 MartinT (6340) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 2, 2009
My Bottom Line:
Banana esters and lightly caramelized pale cereals tend to get overthrown by the omnipresent harsh yeastiness in this unrefined and perhaps underhopped red rye ale.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the muddy brownish orange-red.
-There were obvious flocculation issues with this beer too. The brewer said the yeast just doesn’t want to go down even though this beer was kegged a few weeks ago.
-Could this have been fermented at too high temperatures? It sure smelled and tasted like it...
-Apart from the roughness of the flavor profile, I would say this will be very drinkable once the issues are sorted out (or the yeast takes a back seat, anyway).
On tap at the brewpub.
