(Rating #4170)

My Bottom Line:
Honey and maple sweetness get rattled by a grape bubblegum undergrowth in this placid Scotch Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-There is barely a ring of foam atop the mahogany-hued brown.
-Alcohol licks the finish.
-Green edges are perceived in the nose, rather awkward for this type of beer.
-Mouthfeel is nearly flat, which doesn’t help to make this brew engaging, enhancing its portentous sweetness.
-Oh well, didn’t like this one much ; I’ll stick to their Ambrée d’Épeautre and Rouge des Cantons.

On tap at Hivernale des Brasseurs.

A dark clear brown ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a sweet mineral malt with light boiled veggies and maple. In mouth, a nice sweet burned caramel with amber maple syrup, woody, a bit off. On tap at Montreal Winter Warm, Feb. 25 2012.
