Rastacouere (5919) - Montréal, - AUG 16, 2010
Cloudy beautiful aumbery golden pour topped by a fair white head that lasts, though it does not lace much. Relatively estery, spicy saison with a fair dose of coriander. this translated into herbal, rather green palate with more coriander and peppery notion. The spices were less obvious when it was cold and I must say I preferred it a bit then as it felt drier, more bitter rather than spicy. Medium bodied, soft, yet very active carbonation. Light lemony, flowery hops provide an aromatic component all throughout. I’d prefer it less spicy, but it’s still pretty good and with more than decent yeast character.

Bottle from the brewery. Pours golden body with a whisp of head, that later leaves some dots of lace. Yeast above all is the aroma, also boozy. Overcarbonated. About the right mouthfeel without the carbonation. Some pepper and alcohol, drinkable but 500 ml. i way too much. Below average saison.

MartinT (6340) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 29, 2010
My Bottom Line:
Spicy orange peel and herbal hops frolic within this Saison’s forceful effervescence, as yeast latches on the floating hop bitterness.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A huge head of foam settles atop the opaque dark orange. There is way too much yeast in the bottle (a poorly flocculating yeast) for me to be able to pour a clean-looking glass. The last glass is muddy.
-This Saison relies on its spices too much for my tastes.
-The finish seems to be spiked by peppercorns.
-Slender cereal sweetness supports the fruity spices throughout.
-This may not be perfectly authentic, but it remains enjoyable and drinkable.

Bottle.

500 ml bottle drank at there brewpub, on August 6, 2010. Golden honey, small head. Grass hop aroma, hints of citrus. Taste of dry medicinal herbs, notes of hops dry and sweet, aftertaste of bitter herbs. A well done dry hop saison!
