Bottle, 75cl corked. It’s a clear, dark golden cider, very lighlty sparkling and with a thin layer of bubbles on top. A bit weak on the nose, mostly apples of course, but also some sulphurish, earthy notes. Rather weak on the palate too, but not bad in any way. Apples, apple cores and some cellar hints. Apples and some acidity in the finish. Quite nice anyway. 120124

75 cl bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu, no BBE info
Sour and earthy aroma with some tart apples. Very dry palate. Flavour is sourish and sweet with sugar. Nice, although I expected more sourness and earthy notes by the aroma.

750 ml bottle. Dark golden body with a fast disappearing off-white head. Aroma is cider apples, apple core and wood. Flavor is both sweet and sour, like fruity acidic apple. Also ripe apples and wood. Not really complex but easy to drink with a nice and real apple flavor.

Ok, taking a break from the low alcohol ratings now to rate a French sider. A natural follow-up, don’t you think? No? :-P Oh well, this one pours a clear, golden body with a fainting white cider-style retention. Aroma is wood, fermented apples and hints of something astringent I can’t put my finger on. Taste is oak, yellow apples and hints of citric flavors. Medium carbonation on palate. Flavorful despite the low ABV, although perhaps a tad bit sweet from as you drink along. Funnily, ciders are very hard to balance in the ways of sweetness, in my experience. So far, I’ve only found a few that makes this feat with some conviction. Mellow and nice, the Bordelet Sydre Brut Tendre ain’t such a bad cider at all.

It’s unclear, dark orange and the aroma has notes of apple, apple peal and oven-baked apple. The flavour has a light sweetness and a nice dryness, a light apple sourness and notes of apple, apple peal, wood, and the finish is dry and slightly apple sour. It’s very nice and refreshing.

Small offwhite head doesn’t last. Deep yellow body with carbonation. Sharp green apple and wood aroma with sulphury notes. Sweet-astringent fresh apple taste with wooden sulphury notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, fresh mouthfeel. Empty dryish faintly alcoholic aftertaste. Quite nice, and fairly drinkable. (0.75l bottle shared by gr0ve.)
