The color is a dark red with a beige head. The aroma and taste is of a mix of malt, sweet caramel, spicies and raisins and at the end a nice bitter finish. This was a very good one from Boreale I hope they bring it out again next year.

Nice light fruitiness conjures raisins and plums along with a healthy dose of brown sugar and caramel in the aroma. Clear, deep copper coloured body is topped by a decent, fine bubbled tan head that recedes to a lasting cover with some patchy lace. Flavour has plenty of the same fruitiness and sweetness as the nose suggests and is balanced by a light whiff of alcohol and some decent offsetting bitterness. Dry medium body with lightly pointy and long lasting carbonation. Tulip glass. Cellar temperature. Bottle (Le Gobelet, Jan-08).

Bottle: Poured a deep copper color ale with a nice foamy head with average retention and no lacing. Aroma of dry fruits with some notes of sweet toffee/caramel malt is very enticing. Taste is a nice mix between some dry fruits with note of toffee and caramel. Medium full body with a somewhat creamy texture and some average carbonation. Well done and something I am likely to buy again.

Amber color with a medium size head. Malty and sweet. Taste of caramel coffee and small fruits. Not really spicy. A little bit roasty. Nice - sort of dry- finish. That’s one of Boréale’s best ...

2008-02-01. Bottle. Very dark brown body with a modest tan head. (3+) Muted flavour, sweet malt with some toasty roasty accent hints. Light sugary notes in the finish linger. Similar aroma of sweet malt, dry toasty notes. Average palate. Not a show stopper but quite drinkable.

Bottle shared with jerc, mabel, blankboy & mds - courtesy of blankboy. Ruby-amber with a medium tan head. Aroma of caramel, brown sugar and dried fruit. Medium bodied. Flavour is quite sweet to start, with lots of brown sugar and raisins, and starts to dry out in the middle, with a fairly short and mildly spiced finish. Not too bad at all.
