Achetée au IGA de Masson-Angers. L’une des belles découvertes de l’année. Super herbal. Beau collet houblonné. Goût sublime et houblon de l’inde en forte présence.

On tap at Chez Victor (Québec, QC). Hazy amber body with a good white creamy head. Fresh hoppy aroma with malty, citrusy, and herbal hints. Its sharp hoppy taste carries grapefruit notes and ends with a long, robust bitter finish. Very good example of IPA.

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2012 Biere IPA dorée a 6,2% alc. 341 ml. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a clear coppery color with a medium white head. The aroma is spot-on, it’s resinous, slightly fruity, reasonably dry and there’s a nice cereal presence. The flavor is nice, the samed resinous, slightly fruity hops are there, it’s not too sweet and there’s cereals, but the flavor is a bit short, I would have liked to feel them longer. The body is full with a creamy texture and medium to lively carbonation. This is a good IPA, kudos to Boréale for their convincing effort.

341ml from my local supermarket.
Appearance : Clear pale amber small head. Small head. Minimal lacing.
Aroma : Fresh piny and floral hops. Slightly wet and oily. Some caramel with light alcohol notes.
Taste : Quite citrusy and piny with light caramel. Finish resinous, oily and floral. Persistent stickiness on the palate.
Palate :Soft carbonation. I think the body is a bit on the heavy side for the style.
Overall : A bit more caramel that I would have liked. A bit too much bitterness and resinous notes compared to the more delicate floral and citrusy aromatics which I enjoy more. Still a very decent IPA (on the soft side of the style) at a very affordable price. Quite mainstream but it’s the market they’re into and I think this IPA fits the bill.

Wow, big surprise with this. I wasn’t expecting the citrus hop aroma coming out of this one. Taste is a nice dry citrus hop flavouring with sweet malt. This could very well break into my IPA rotation.

Very solid IPA from what is usually a very mediocre brewery. Nice floral hop aroma that one can smell as soon as you open the bottle. The hop flavour is very present, more floral than bitter and very well balanced with the malt. The only negative is a slightly disappointing aftertaste. This beer is of a far better quality than any other beer I have tried from this brewery. Hopefully they keep brewing it and it also inspires them to improve their other beers.

341 ml bottle from Broue Ha Ha, served cool in a tulip glass.

App.: Hazy/cloudy orange-amber with a full off-white head. Aroma: Nice, juicy orange peel/citrus hops, tropical fruits, good caramel malt support, quite fruity, really pleasant. Palate: Medium+ body, silky effervescence, smooth. Flav.: More malt than the nose, a little savoury/mashy/meaty, still plenty of nice fruitiness, some tropical fruits, some citrus peel, a touch peppery/pine, likeable; off dry with reasonable bitterness and a fruity, caramel/mash finish.

Quite a pleasant surprise from this run-of-the-mill brewer. I could easily drink more.

Carbonation moyenne, corps assez dense.
