341 ml bottle from local Iga A: citrusy, some caramel. App: clear copper sparing white head. T/p: light body with medium long bitter finish. carbonation is soft. O: better than most Ipa from Qc could disappoint the true hophead. It lacks some aromatic typical to the style. The texture flavor however are pretty much right on style. Still a nice attention from this big microbrewery. Hope to taste an upgraded batch in a very near future.

Belle biere, beau palais tres rafraichissante avec une amertume sympatique et parfumee. Houblon hyper sympa qui graffigne juste comme il faut!

Translucent copper with a quickly disappearing head. Not off to a good start it seems.. Aroma is really nice tho, full of hops and promising! Taste delivers a nice hop kick and I’m really starting to wonder if this is really a Boréale! Great job Brasseurs du Nord, especially @ 7.99$/6pk! I think I’ll just print some Stone IPA labels and pretend that this is what I’m drinking... Of course it is not as good but I am picking up a lot of similarities! We need more local IPAs like this!

Aroma: Alcohol with floral, herbal and citrus accents. Alcohol is sticking out a bit too much and is giving a smell of ether. Slight notes of grapefruit are also in there. Appearance: Small creamy head with a nice lacing is crowning a clear gold color. Taste: Grapefruit and citrus are sticking out at first taste with a good mix of floral accents. Good mix of flowers and citrus. Nice creamy texture and very smooth for an IPA. Finish with notes of cereal and a slight ether taste. Would have rated more if it wouldn’t have been of that aftertaste. Nevertheless it remains that it’s an excellent smooth, well balanced IPA . Not for strong bitterness seekers.

Bottle (341 ml). Clear golden with a frothy white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of pine and resinous with a nice but not overwhelming malty backbone and slight floral notes. Like JulienHuxley said, taste is hoppy but not bitter. Pine/resinous and floral notes are also present in flavor. Mouthfeel is moderately dry. Not a very complex or heavy IPA but really drinkable and refreshing. Good surprise from Boréale!

Bottle. I believe this is rather fresh. Clear gold pour with a bit of lacy white head. Aroma of spruce, pine, really coniferous and resinous hops, discreet malt aromas. Taste is very hoppy, but barely bitter, looks like tons of late hop additions without the traditional quebec IPA recipe of ridiculous quantities of caramel malt and stupid bittering hop additions. Light, but very clean, palate is pretty dry. The hopping could be much more extreme, but I think this IPA respects the proportions of the best in style for a commercially available beer.

Why ? Why did we had to wait forever for that kind of IPA to be available ? Sharp hoppy aroma, nice malty finish. 6,2%, tremendous distribution, 10$ / 6-pack. Wow....well....Finally should we say !

Tout d’abord, belle surprise! Fondation malté assez solide, un peu trop mais quand même, les houblons floraux et les agrumes prennent leur place sans rien bousculer. Le corps est assez collant, l’amertume modéré et la buvabilité assez aigu.

On tap at Festibière de Québec. Clear straw with an okay head. Smells like citrus and grapes. Taste is mostly sweet cereals. Bitterness is mostly herbal hops, accompanied by grapefruit, lemon and lime. Average bodied. Pretty good IPA, I was quite surprised!
