COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nearly black with ruby glints and a creamy head, Boréale Noire is a full-bodied stout. Its rich velvety taste suggests dark chocolate and roasted coffee with hints of licorice.

This is officially the best beer in the world. An incredible stout that makes me think of Christmas and chestnuts and... Boy do I ever love this beer! Amazing!

This has to be the most underated beer on this site. I like it more than Mcauslan. Although, if the ratees are rating the bottled beer, it is vastly inferior to the tapped version (like guinness). Anyway, I love this beer and I search for it anytime i’m in the Québec province. It is a beautiful dark dry’ish’ stout. It’s head is very creamy and darkish and the beer retains it wonderfully. Notes of coffee and toffee and chestnuts resound on the nose before you dig into the lacy, creamy smooth head, giving away to this wonderful dark nector. Imediately, your palate notices a full malty body with flavours reminiscent of roasted chestnuts and coffeeish flavours. As the beer rides the gateway of you tongue, in the back, as these flavours and the roasted bitterness begin to subside, another rises: tabaco - beautiful rich cuban cigar tabaco aftertaste. I loved it. How do they get that effect!

Bottled. Very dark ruby with a large brown head. Rich aroma: sweet dough, cookie, prune, cassis, butter, nutmeg. Dry texture. Medium bodied. Starts sweet, finishes burnt bitter, leaves an astringent, ash- or coffee-wise mouthfeel. A great dessert!

UPDATED: JUL 26, 2012 Hmmm! Hmmm! Hmmm! What a good beer...this is what I’m talking about. Fruity and caramel aroma, great black appearance with a thinny head, fruity and chocolate flavor and strong palate that stay in your mouth for long time. I will try for sure more Boreale product in the future.

Very creamy and chocolaty stout. Light head but big flavor. Surprisingly better than most stout around

Hummm !!! Very good !! Nice very dark beer with a brown frothy head. Aroma of yeast and coffee and very pleasant taste of roasted malt with a nice bitter finish. Very enjoyable.

Poured a thick black oily colour with hints of red in the light. Had a thick head that reminded me of chocolate mousse, but it did disappear too quickly. Very malty aroma and a v.v. good smell. Nice bitter edge to it and a chewy texture. Would have again!

Bottled. Aroma is like coffee with lots of sugar and a hint of mocca. Black color, thick brown head, very nice lace. Sweet, roasted, coffee, chocolat, thick and smooth. Well balanced, so much flavors and still easy drinking. If they´d export it to Holland I´d be buying a sixpack every week.

What a good stout, a rich flavor of caramel and a bit of chocolat. They have captured the idea of a stout that please every taste. Just another great product from Boreal.

In Québec, you can get it for 7,99$ per 6-pack. Still, it is one of Québec’s finest stout, another good brew from that former microbrewer, that success has not corrupted yet. Very well-balanced stout, with high carbonation, rich texture in bottle (I remember liking it a lot on tap many years ago) and appropriate dominant coffee taste, with notes of chocolate and licorice, as they say, but it is the pretty intense bitterness of that beer that makes me like it very much. At least as good then the St.Ambroise Oatmeal Stout, just with their own personnalities.
