COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Speckled Ghost is a shout out to the elusive trout. A Belgian Style Abbey Ale that melds hop balance, sweetness, and a hint of maltiness. For those who tie their own and tie one on.

750 ml bottle. Pours a hazy brown with a tight foamy off white head that fades to a thin soapy film. Aroma is very soft with very light clove some banana. Taste has a decent spice with clove and banana with and a pepper finish. Palate is thin and drying and slightly watery and warming.

ABR, 2013. Lots of sweet malt and sugar, surprisingly I got a hint of smoke. Full palate, good.

July 21, 2012 on tap at All Pints North. Orangish brown pour with head and lacing. Sour cherry and dark fruit in aroma and taste. Light to medium body.

(bottle) Pours a hazy dark brown color with a little off-white head that quickly dissipates to nothing. Aroma smells as OSLO said, pretty much like a weizenbock initially, with some scents of banana and bubblegum showing through. After this warms however, there is also a strong off-putting scent of butter. Further scents of cola. Flavor is pretty bad, with some of the aforementioned banana, light caramel, which quickly shifts to diet cola and includes the odd aftertaste. The finish continues and tastes like aspirin. Mouthfeel is medium and carbonation is somewhat lively. In my opinion, this is definitely not worth the price ($13-14/bottle), and it most definitely isn’t worth a further mark-up. Will not buy again.

UPDATED: JUN 18, 2012 [Bottle, thanks Guerde!] Pours dark amber with a beige head. Aroma is more like a weizen, with banana and smoke, with apple and metal as it warms. Big metallic taste really spoils it, along with some banana again and strong malt in the finish. Fairly thin mouthfeel with an average finish. I had been really looking forward to trying stuff from this brewery, so this was a real disappointment. High prices don’t help, and If the rumors of prices being increased as soon as bottles started selling are true, then that doesn’t win any points in my book either.
