cgarvieuk (2525), Edinburgh, Scotland Feb 11, 2008 Bottle at home ... I suspect i need to thank yngwie for this ... Nice deep brown colour ... sweet caramel malt ... rich sweet slighly burnt butter toffee ... Gets a bit wearing over time. thebeertourist (1879), Oslo, Norway Feb 8, 2008 Bottle. It pours mahogny with a dense creamy tan head. Burnt caramel nose. Sweet taste with burnt notes. Uninspiring is its first name. tarjei (1295), Bryne, Norway Jan 6, 2008 33 cl bottle. Brown color. Big, beige head. Flavor is dark malt, moderate sweetness, caramel, hints of coffee, salt and some bitterness. ekstedt (1954), Göteborg, Sweden Nov 17, 2007 Bottle (33 cl) from Furseth, mange takk!. Deep clear copper with a medium creamy beige head. Roasted and slightly toffeeish malt aroma, medium bodied and smooth, good balance. A decent bock, however slightly one-dimensional. Glouglouburp (1997), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Sep 20, 2007 Thanks to larsga. Clear dark ruby body topped by a short-lived medium beige head. Aroma of burnt something. Taste has raisins in burnt caramel with a backbone of dry over-toasted cereals resembling burnt woods. There’s a little something synthetic about the taste too, like faint plastic and crushed pills. Gets better as it warms-up with more and more molasses hiding the synthetic flavours. Some earthy woody hops in the finish. Poorly put together beer. Resistance is not futile, I will not assimilate another bottle ever again.
