Yes, it's from a big brewery, but I didn't have any beef with this brew - it hit the spot for me. Maybe it was the thirst-inducing walk to the top of Oslo's Holmenkollen ski jump, but I was dying for a brew and this Borg Bock was sufficiently sweet and malty to slake my thirst. The brew is massively dark (think porter) and has a nice creamy head. Not much in the way of hops, but there are some subtle spice hints. Enjoy!

33 cl bottle in Grebbestad. Clear brown beer with an offwhite/beige small head. Dark dried fruits, nutty, fudge aroma. Similar finish. Nice beer :-)

Amber/black body with a beige head. Rich roast barley and caramel nose. Well blended sweet malty background with coffee, caramel and toffe flavour.Perfect dessert beer.

Bottle, 6.6%. OK aroma, dusty and sweet with a little sherry. Dark brown colour, small head. Very good flavour, sweet, peppery and warming.

From bottle. Very dark brown, clear. Aroma of salty licorice, roasted malt, hint of raisins.

Milk chocolate aroma, thin dark caramel color. Solid creamy body, clay finish.

An amber beer with a light orange head. The aroma is sweet and dominated by caramel, but also with some notes of alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel and honey, which gives it a slighlty sticky mouthfeel. Nice.

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2013 Rerate, 330 ml clear bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.6%. Dark brown colour, moderate beige head. Moderate but nice aroma: malts, bread, caramel. Rich and malty flavour, not too sweet, pleasant to drink. Slight roasty notes, some caramel malts, moderate hops in the finish / aftertaste. Well balanced. Original rating: Rich and sweetish, spicy, hints of coffee and caramel. Not a bad bock.
