Yes, it's from a big brewery, but I didn't have any beef with this brew - it hit the spot for me. Maybe it was the thirst-inducing walk to the top of Oslo's Holmenkollen ski jump, but I was dying for a brew and this Borg Bock was sufficiently sweet and malty to slake my thirst. The brew is massively dark (think porter) and has a nice creamy head. Not much in the way of hops, but there are some subtle spice hints. Enjoy!

Pours dark brown with a slightly tanned head. Aroma of dark sweet malts, hints of Christmas spices, and brown sugar. Unbalanced, as there is a wall of sweetness, and no bitterness detectable. However, this beer is supposed to be sweet, I like it that way.

An amber beer with a light orange head. The aroma is sweet and dominated by caramel, but also with some notes of alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel and honey, which gives it a slighlty sticky mouthfeel. Nice.

330 ml bottle. Clear, dark reddish body with a dense off-white head, diminishing. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel and dry fruit. Flavor is roasted malt, caramel and dry fruit with a light but well pronounced bitter finish. A nice, sweet and well balanced beer.

Rich and sweetish, spicy, hints of coffee and caramel. Not a bad bock.
