A deep dark porter with a thin brown head. In aroma, sweet chocolate malt with light coffee, nutty notes, light vanilla, light powdery character, nice. In mouth, a nice bitter sweet chocolate with coffee grind, musty character, light alcohol, nice and pleasant. Bottle at Kol, Reykjavik.

330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6%. Black colour, moderate beige head. Roasty dryish aroma with notes of coffee, a hint of dark chocolate. Roasty flavour too, medium dry, coffee and chocolate again, slightly warming finish with a hint of fortified wine, moderate hops.

Bottle from a Vínbúdin in Reykjavik. Deep brown with a frothy cream head. Quite a fruity coffee aroma. The taste has light spice with some dark fruit and plenty of chocolate and coffee. Lingering coffee finish. Nice.

Small rim of light cream head over fully hazy brown beer. Gassy nose, manure, earthy, dark green leaves, brookwater. Cold coffee, mocha, burnt wood, bit of charcoal. Very spritzy carbonation, medium bodied. Not bad, but a tad light. Thanks to the Vermeersch bros’!

Bottle at Grillmarkadurinn. Pours black with a small off-white head. Sweet with a mellow dryness. Aromas of toasted malts with some caramel notes. Also hints of prunes. Medium to light bodied. Medium to soft carbonation. Dry finish with more toasted malts.

Small slightly fizzy shortlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet roasted, caramel, lactose, mild espresso, dark malts, dark sugar, chocolate pudding, vanilla. Taste is slightly dry mineraly, weeds, minerals, burnt grain, grass, sour coffee, vanilla, paper, bark, chocolate. Medium bitterness, slightly sour-ish mouthfeel. Fair enough.
