3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
330 ml bottle. Clear amber body with a small beige head. Quite strong but one-dimensional aroma of caramel malt and toffee. Flavor is sweet caramel malt, toast and moderate bitterness. Fine body and slightly roasted caramel malt in after taste. Decent, but not very exiting.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at home. The colour is deep golden reddish brown, and has a light beige medium head. Dried fruit in the aroma along with some roasted malt, meat, coffee and chocolate truffles. More dried fruit in the flavour with leather, oak, rye bread and some dark berries and coffee. Slick mouthfeel, and has a light bitterness. Feels pretty belgian, and is well-balanced.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep reddish dark colour with a tan head. Dark malt and light fruity aroma. Medium pluss body. Balanced sweetness and light bitterness. Dark malt, caramel and light fruity flavour. One of the best of the "old" traditional norwegian strong christmas brew.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
0.33l bottle. This is a clear deep deep brown one with a slight reddish hue and a small quickly sidesticking and bubbly beige top. On the nose it’s sweet and dark-sugary. Some almonds and marzipan with traces of something smoky and burned. Not to horrible. It’s average on the carbonation with a sticky oily mouthfeel. Dark malty and sweet on the flavor with black syrup, some clear alcohol - quite integrated though - thin watery licorice and some bitterness. A bit near metallic towards the finish, but I quite enjoyed this one. 28.11.2012
