Julefeiringener en skikk fra Tor og Odins dager. Da Olav den Hellige kristnet landet gikk folk med på å skifte tro, men "Drekka Jol" ville de ikke gi slipp på - samme hvor mange armer Olav Digre kappet av.

Small offwhite head over deep dark red body like red wine, except for the slight carbonation. Light, soft licorice aroma, barely detectable. Sweet, roasty taste. Again very weak. Faintly dry aftertaste. Nothing wrong with it, but there’s hardly any taste here. (0.33l bottle.)

Rather nice, a typical Norwegian Christmas beer, though this is on the sweetish side. Easy drinking, a little warm aftertaste from the alcohol. Currently available on draft (Beer Palace, Oslo)

Bottle. Dark golden brown with a head that soon disappears. Strange perfume aroma and taste - probably the hops. Oily mouthfeel. Hardly any aftertaste.

UPDATED: MAY 9, 2007 Bottled. Copper color with small off-white head. Caramelly-sweet malt aroma. Warming taste of caramel, lightly roasted and sweet malt. Slightly bitter aftertaste. (051109)

Gr0ve (2038) - Oslo, NORWAY - NOV 4, 2005
33cl bottle. Brown golden with not much head. Carbonation is as expected in a beer like this. The aroma is quite pleasant. It smells of sweet malt and caramel. The aftertaste is a bit boring as it does not give away much. Bitterness is quite appropriate. Some diacetyl.

Storm (2685) - Amager, DENMARK - OCT 17, 2005
Sampled at RBESG 2005. Light brown colour with a weak head. Very little aroma of malt and caramel. A lot of taste of some speciel malt, but very average. Not a great christmasbeer indeed.

Bottle. Quite sweet and uninteresting. Caramel/raisin sweetness, some grainy malt characters, very thin and short finish. Not a lot going on.
