Surtur fer sunnan
međ sviga lćvi,
skín af sverđi
sól valtíva.
Grjótbjörg gnata,
en gífur rata,
trođa halir helveg
en himinn klofnar

330mL bottle, courtesy of haukur (thanks a lot man), pours black with a small tan head. Nose brings out notes of chalk, dark fruits and some slightly cardboardy notes. Flavour is along the same lines though less cardboardy, with notes of roasted malt, chalk, and dry powdery cocoa. Not overly complex or elegant, but pleasant enough. It does have a little cardboardy, stale finish to it. Not so good.

Black color with small brown head. Mild aroma of roasted malt. Similar to the Nr. 23, it has a nice flavor of dark chocolate shavings, but it’s rather dry for the style; some roasted nuts; correct bitterness, but it’s a bit stale in the final.

shared bottle at a bar. poured a dark black colour with a creamy tanned head. roasted malts, burned caramel, dark coffee, dark chocolate, ripe dark fruits, ash notes, touch of liquor, oak, some kind of a porty fruity finish, quite nice...

Bottle @ Belarus Takes over the World Cup, 2014. Shared with Christian. Trade with Gunnarolis. Cheers. Pours black with a creamy beige head and lacings. Alcohol, whiskey, coffee and some chocolate. Flavor is licorice, roast, coffee and mild vanilla. Dry and roasted finish. Very tasty and elegant. Incredibly quaffable at 9%.

World Cup Beer. Black with a small off-white head. Roasted aroma of licorice and chocolate, with soy sauce and a touch of leather. Sweet malty flavour with alcohol, soy sauce and licorice and a hard roasted, ashy finish. Not really my kind of imperial stout

Thick beautiful head, pitch black in color, thick on the palate. Initial flavors of liqourise and coffee. Long really smooth and intense beautiful aftertaste.

haukur (1798) - Reykjavik, ICELAND - JAN 24, 2013
UPDATED: SEP 25, 2013 Pitch black, brown film of a head. Toast, malts, caramel, nuts in the aroma, big aroma profile. Medium sweetness, medium bitterness. Big palate. Surprisingly huge considering it´s pretty young. Obvious yeast notes. Thick and oily, avarage carbonation, fantastic balance. Very long finish. Another winner from Borg!
