3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 omhper (15956) - Stockholm, - DEC 28, 2011
Bottled at Íslenski barinn, Reykjavík. Clear amber, rich firm head. Hoppy tangerine aroma. Sweet with medium-full body, soft, somewhat oily mouthfeel. Rather heavy with flavours of tangerine and sugar. Mid bitter finish.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Thoor84 (20) - ICELAND - DEC 24, 2011
Really nice aroma, fruity hops. Probably lot of dry hopping with amarillo ? Taste is hoppy, but too thin body. Bitter finish. Not great, but very decent ipa.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 gbe75 (42) - ICELAND - OCT 29, 2011
A fine Icelandic IPA. A good start to build on. Smells and tastes of grass and citrus. The hoppy flavor fades out too quickly.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 rocbyter (1528) - Waterbury, Connecticut, USA - AUG 30, 2011
Strong hop citrus and light malt aroma. Clear orange color with a medium white head. Hoppy citrus flavor throughout.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 hopscotch (7526) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JUL 6, 2011
Bottle… Clear golden ale with a small, creamy, white head. Good retention. The bouquet is mainly of spicy hops, but offers additional subdued notes of toffee and caramel. Medium-bodied with soft carbonation. The flavor presents resiny, tannic and grapefruit rind bitterness – sweetness is low, even when finally warm. Lengthy, bitter finish.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Eirikur (328) - hafnarfjordur, ICELAND - MAY 21, 2011
Small head, colour is clear light copper golden, wich is perfect.
Beautiful herby hoppy nose.
Medium body, average fizz, creamy, long awesome smooth bitter finish.
This is one of the best IPS´s I´ve had.
Great IPA, will buy again.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 steinar (52) - rvk, ICELAND - FEB 25, 2011
Pours clear yellow, with a big frothy head. Aroma is really hoppy, seems to be cascade hops by the aroma and taste. Taste is also really hoppy, the hops overwhelm pretty much everything else and it is quite bitter but still enjoyable. The hoppy taste lingers for a while afterwards. Hint of citrus. Average carbonation and medium bodied. First really decent IPA as far as i can tell produced in iceland.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 bjakk (50) - Skagafjordur, ICELAND - FEB 16, 2011
An impressive first Icelandic IPA. Really hoppy, with a nice fruity aroma. Lacks a little in fullness, and the tast dosnt last long, although the hoppy flavour builds up over time
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 haukur (761) - Reykjavik, ICELAND - FEB 6, 2011
Powerful indeed, at 60 IBU´s. First icelandic IPA and what a beauty! At first I was really skeptical about Borg Brugghús, since it is owned and operated by Egils, but this is just as good as american micro IPA. Massive hop aroma, citrus and oranges. Heavy palate, massive hop bite. This is the way to go! excellent sample of the style
