2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 11/20 Crit (2767) - New Westminster, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 8, 2005
Gold, fast fading white head. Light malt nose. A rather bland , slightly malty brew with good body for the style
0.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20 Bigsilky (323) - Charleston, USA - MAY 3, 2005
UPDATED: MAY 5, 2005 The conceded premature ejaculation of brewing. I’d rather have a High Life, (what a scary thing to say) I don’t care who this guy is, or about his generation, or what flag he carries. This is certainly the low end of stinky Euro trash lagers in green bottles. And it’s in a 8.5 ounce bottle, what kind of size is that?
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Pailhead (3326) - Plymouth, Michigan, USA - APR 28, 2005
UPDATED: MAY 16, 2005 Bottle: Lightly sweet with some apple in the aroma. Pours a transparent gold with a white head. I’m giving it a 3 in appearance strictly for being gold instead of yellow. LIghtly sweet with some apple. Reminds me of Cerveza Quisqueya from the Dominican Republic, just not as flat. You can do worse.
2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 rederic (2269) - montréal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 28, 2005
Bright golden hue, light foaming head disappearing in blink of an eye. at the opening of the little green bottle, the skunky smell came out, toasty malt, corn juice, floral hop aromas follow through on a light-bodied palate with a light bitter hop finish, a beer lacking character.
0.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20 tupalev (2708) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - APR 12, 2005
Bottle. Light to dark yellow pour. Incredibly skunky aroma. Bland taste - the definition of a crap European Lager (I’m sorry pilsner). Others have noted touches of malt and hops but I just didn’t get it. Up there with the worst I have ever tried. At least I shared the tiny bottle!
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Sammy (5881) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 19, 2005
a broken pack single. Not too watery, and some head in initial pour. Not a pourout, some malt in there. Minimal carbonation. Clean taste, could be a palate cleaner. A tad of fruit and malt on tongue at finish.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 JoeMcPhee (6821) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 19, 2005
250 ml bottle. Deep golden colour, thin white head with some sticky lace. Sweet malty aroma, light graininess with a bit of soapy character. Flavour is pretty simple, light malt, faint hopping with a light peppery finish.
3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Braudog (4473) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - MAR 18, 2005
Bright golden color and quite active with impressive bright white, sticky head. Starchy malt aroma. Flavor basis isn’t all that different than most import lagers, except with a bit more oomph and sweet syrupy texture.
