HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Sep 11, 2005 Bottle (250ml). Poured hazy yellow, thin white fizzy head. Aroma of corn and scorched straw. Taste is thin and harsh and I can’t say why, but it’s freakin’ harsh. 250ml bottle may just be too big. SuIIy (1406), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA Aug 12, 2005 Bottle @ Union street saloon Detroit, MI. Pours a light gold color with a small white head. Head is fizzy and very tiny. Nose is straw and hay. Taste is corn and hay with a small bit of hopps mixed in. mdi (573), Nebraska, USA Jul 26, 2005 8oz green bottle. Actually has some color to it...bronzen I’d say...slight white head...decent hop notes in the aroma for such a beer. Drinks light as expected with some sweet corny malt and a dash of hops. Nothing I crave, but better than I expected. Still not sure about the tiny bottle???? jmuhops (663), Winchester, Virginia, USA Jul 22, 2005 Poured from two 8.5 oz. “Alsatian Flasks.” The box and label make it clear that this beer is for commies and “insurgents.” I think I just supported terrorism by buying this. Light amber with a one-finger head. Some effervescence. No complaints thus far. Smells like rocks and dull hops. Let the crap-fest begin! The flavor makes me shudder. Tastes like nothing, with a revolting corn and dull hop aftertaste. At least I have a Trois Pistoles to get the taste out of my mouth. Beer Snob (378), Ontario, Canada Jun 26, 2005 What a precious bottle!!!
Nothing like reading gobbledygook while consuming beer. To duplicate the pleasure of drinking Boris, next time, I’ll pop open a Blue and read Oprah’s magazine.
No reason to drink this unless it’s the only beer at a party (my excuse).
Proof positive that there are many intelligent people who can be fooled by packaging. Sweet and fairly easy drinking with a tinge of maltiness.
Why bother?
FROTHINGSLOSH (1961), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 26, 2005 Updated: Jun 27, 2006Sampled from 12 oz brown bottle. This beer poured a pale yellow color with a medium white head. Sour malt and skunk aroma. Same for the flavor. French Bud - how lovely. jefcon (997), Arlington, Virginia, USA Jun 15, 2005 Bright gold, no head. Skunky aroma. Bitter and dry and sour all at once. It’s drinkable, but no more so than a macro on its best day. wintersdying (49), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Jun 14, 2005 kinda sweet smelling, and faintly wheaty, but preey basic... i’d drink it over a lot of macro brews.... but nothing i’d preach about.
