4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 freekyp (1295) - Thomasville, North Carolina, USA - NOV 26, 2007
Dark chestnut brown with a large frothy tan head that billows above the rim of the glass. This is a festive beer to behold, and retains its strong head for a good long while. Sprightly carbonation is present but not at all obtrusive. Malty nose redolent with dark fruit accents the flavor. Medium bodied and easily drinkable, this brew never ventures into the more syrupy overly sweet realm of some Belgians, nor does it take the tart abrasive route. Finely balanced with a decidedly fruity body and just enough hops to lend a mild finish. Just fantastic.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 oh6gdx (16024) - Vasa, FINLAND - DEC 5, 2005
Draught. Dark ruby red colour, mediumsized white head. Vegetably malty nose with plums and raisins also there. Vegetably malts in flavour along with toffee, alcohol and fruits. Hoppy fruity bitterish aftertaste. Plums and raisins the only things that might be considered Chistmas, but nothing in flavour...
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 TBone (9414) - Pori, FINLAND - DEC 4, 2005
Draught
Dark ruby color, good creamy off-white head. Sweet fruity (plums, dates, raisins) in the aroma. Light to medium bodied, fruity malty, slightly alcoholic, a bit earthy. Mild fruity and bitterish aftertaste. Quite standard dubbel, no Christmas found here.
