Bottle at DHL during Paul’s Pre-Wedding Lads-Only Weekend. Vintage 1986, graciously shared by Louis. Pours clear, red-brown with a creamy, tan head. Good stuff, has aged beautifully. Very sweet with lots of candi sugar, caramel and cake. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Faint warmth on the finish, sticky sweet with caramel and dark fruits, light toasty candi sugar. Excellent beer.

330ml bottle. Slightly hazy, dark amber colour with tan head that leaves a little lace. Stewed fruit with a brown sugar edge, fairly muted nose with a bit of a vinous quality. A little light on the palate with a distinct taste I can’t put my finger on...but it’s not winning me over. There’s an almost chalky quality.
