| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 8, 2008 12oz bottle from 2007 Christmas gift pack from LCBO in Toronto. Pours a very dark brown with a billowing white head. Excellent lacing. Medium malty aroma. Flavour is initially a bit sweet and tangy. The light sweetness sticks around as the malt finish arrives. Decent stuff probably, but dubbels aren’t really my thing, and this one doesn’t prove otherwise.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 8, 2008 Very nice Belgian dark beer, which reminds me of the Westmalle Dubbel. I just love the taste of this mature aroma. SpudClampDawg (1027), Jasper, Indiana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 6, 2008 750ml bottle: Even after a careful decant, the beer still pours a yeast filled murky brown. The head is brilliant though - nearly three fingers and it slowly melts into whipped mounds in the glass. The aroma is both sweet and tart. A lot of carbonation gets in the nostrils, with notes of chewy caramel, sweet coffee and chocolates. Very tempting as it warms to room temp. The body is thick and chewy. The same tart note that I noticed in the nose rides atop the malty body. Jungle fruits, golden raisans and plums abound here. Finishes with a splash of espresso and chocolate. This is good. lucke13 (90), Des Moines, Iowa, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 25, 2008 Pours a dark, dark brown...almost black with a small off-white head. Smells of rich malt with a floral component. Taste is coffee and mollases, and has a lingering bitterness. Medium body with minimal carbonation. Fantomasus (122), USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 20, 2008 I’m kinda confused by my 3.8 as compaired to the 3.33 average but whatever.
Pours a deeps cola/amber with a huge sea foam head. Smells of deep rich malt and a spice that I can’t put my nose on with a hint of sour mash or ripe apple. Flavor is more dark roast malt and a subtle deep fruit all this leaves to be finished by a sharp bitter sour hop. I found this brew to be very complex and compelling. gam (1092), brisbane, Australia
