Hazy dark brown with a huge white head and some sediment. Aroma of sweet malt and musty yeast. Sweet spicy malt taste. Some citrus and a hoppy finish. Sounds pretty good, but I was disappointed with this. None of the tastes seemed well enough defined. Result was a trifle ordinary.

Nice tan head over a very deep dark chocolate brown. Nutty ’brown’ scent that is very full. Lots of spice, some citrus, some hops and some nut? As usual these belgian dubles and tripples are hard to describe but they sure taste fine.

Bottled @ Tortula, Sao Paulo, Brazil. A dark brown beer with a big tan head. Aroma is sweety and malty, notes of caramel and brown sugar. Taste is also malty, notes caramel, burnt sugar, raisins and some spices. Slightly bitter in the end.

Chocolate, a bit of a sour aroma and sweetness. Palate is well carbonated, smooth, rich, sweet, alcoholic and very enjoyable. Finish is sticky sweet with a tiny bit of bitterness and stays with you. Very nice.

From a bottle--Poured a deep brown-black body with a thick off-white head and great lacing. Great nose of sweet funky malts, yeast, coffee. and peppery spices. Smooth and silky, biting flavor. Very original and enjoyable.

11.2 oz Belgian short bottle with a new blue label. Pours a beautiful thick head that slowly dissapatesLeaving a good strong lacing. The color is a crisp black color. Smell is very enjoyable, it has some slight coffee undertones coupled with the sweetness of a Belgian. Nutmeg and pepper smells as well. Taste has coffee tones, very rich dark fruit flavors that seem to be deterioating, malty rich tones couple these flavors. Also has a watered down fig flavor that is distant. Has a pepper flavor that has a bite to it. Mouthfeel is excellent, very smooth and silky, that coupled with the complex flavors makes it very nice. I definetly would have one of these a month, very good.

Bottle, bought @ Vinspecialisten, Kolding. Pours a clear dark brown with a fine frothy off white head. Leaves good lacing. Aroma is lightly roasted with caramel, raisins, prunes and general fruitiness. Okay mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, well spiced. But there is a little metallic off-flavour sadly. Light chocolate and roasted malts appear in the aftertaste. Could have been great without the metal.

Bottle (330ml). Poured a deep muddy brown, border lining on black with a large beige head which was fully lasting. Aroma was very sweet and fruity and was similar to that of blackcurrant concentrate, with some mild prunes and very light bready malts in the back. Taste was suburb and sent a full stream of flavors into my mouth instantly, sweet currents, mild alcohol and spices are some of the few flavors I can name in the intense brew. Full bodied with a warming mouthfeel and a syrupy texture which glided down my throat. A perfectly balanced brew, properly the best double I have had to date.
