Muddy brown with a thin tan head, sour malt aroma, rich dark malt flavor, slight bit of tartness in the finish, not sure if the sour and tartness is intential or not, probably is but does not work too well

clear dark amber, thin tan head, rich sweet carmel malt aroma, rich spicy malt flavor, nice chocolate character, starts to pick up fruity esters in the aroma as it warms, too mild, needs complexity, no sign of prior sourness

Appears a dark mahogany with a 2 finger, velvet, tan head that slowly fades into a fluffy cap. Lots of scattered lacing sticks around the glass.
Smell is of tart cherries, cranberries, cocoa, caramel, raisins, and prune juice.
Taste mimics the aroma with a fruity, grape bubble gum, tartness that is slightly odd and draws from the goodness hidden in the beer.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, vinuous, sweet and tart up front to a semi dry finish. Some complexity in this beer keeps it afloat. badlizard (2338), Berkeley, California, USA

Aroma of sweet malt, banana, brown sugar and some spice notes. Sweet slightly banana bread like taste with hints of molasses and dark fruits. Decent overall. Smells wonderfully of carmally apple cider. Tastes almost the same, but with a light beer undertone. Very sweet and satisfying! AgentSteve (1357), SF Bay Area, California, USA

But it didn’t fizz out, it stuck around and became very fluffy. Aromas were dark fruit, raisin, some chocolate, and a touch of metallic. The flavors were similar with some coffee thrown in. A bit of oxidation in there, but it wasn’t bad. Pretty good. BREWMUSKCLES (1070), New Jersey, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 5, 2007 rises hard in the glass like an alka seltzer. taking the opportunity to taste the high rising and rolling head i couldn’t help to notice how tasty it was. the head was tangy and tastier than the beer which was a belgian caramel clovey/coriander clone but with a slightly mellowed earthy and woody temperence that was nice. a touch of vegetable this brew is dryish and not sweet. it feels good on the palate but has an overly harsh total alcohol profile. Opaque brown body with thick creamy off-white head. Rich body, hits you in the face with malt flavours. Alcohol quite apparent to begin. Notes of chocolate, and caramel malts. Texture is drying to the mouth, not too sweet. You can feel a slight burn going down too. Flavour quite from what I would’ve expected on the nose.
