Aroma is sweet nutty malty and of dark fruits and light brown sugar. Good lacings, full body - smooth & creamy. Yeasty feel. Lasting nutty sweet finish! Nice! Maria (6167), Thisted, Denmark
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 3, 2007 The head is nice and light brown on this dark brown dubbel. The aroma has notes of dark fruits, sweetness and caramel. The flavour is both light sweetish and citrussy with notes of roasted malt, and well, I find it rather thin, not in balance and not one for me to buy again. bhensonb (4240), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Apr 28, 2007 Aroma has some dark fruit, some sweet malt. With halogen backlight the color is light ruby. The beige head is huge. The start is malty dark fruit, backed by a little yeasty spice. Medium+ mouthfeel. Fairly smooth. Very pleasant. Finish is mostly yeasty malt. It’s not sticky, but it’s not all that dry. The hoppy aftertouch is pretty mild. Decent, but perhaps not memorable. JFURYCAT (791), East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 25, 2007 There is an interesting chestnut flavor here which doesn’t seem to connect well with the other elements of burnt malts, some apple-like fruits and possibly too much sweetness. This reminds me of the chestnuts they serve on London streets if they were dipped in caramel and alcohol. I’m not screaming for more. Bart (1625), Vosselaar, Belgium
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 22, 2007 Dark amber coloured with some average carbonation and a huge white head. Fruity malty aroma, slightly roasted. Full palate with some sprankling. Finish is bitter yeasty with a light alcoholic touch. davidflores99 (225), Long Beach, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 16, 2007 Pours dark with a small head, kinda foamy. Smells sweet, like chocolate and some spice. Flavor was a little sweet and strong. Not too bad at all. Drink4Satan (585), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Apr 15, 2007 Hazelnut colour with a small tan head that reduces quickly to a thin film. Smells of sweet honey, chocolate and sour apple. The overtly spritzy carbonation is a little much, and the initial metallic taste is offensive. There is a nice complexity to this double, with lots of dark fruit, sweet malt, nuts, and bitter hops in the finish. emerica56 (579), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 15, 2007 This beer pours a decent head with a nice dark appearance to it. There is a nice smell of chocolate. There is very strong taste of chocolate and honey and has a the nice sweet frothyness as it slides down your throat.
