2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Deep red, slightly unclear body. Huge head at first, then more normal. Quite heavy sweetish aroma. Sweet flavour, not very complex, but quite typical dubbel. Light finish. (At home, 14.11.2013)

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
750 ml bottle from Hampton Falls Village Market. Chalice shows a dirt brown/ muddy river water color. Very thin ring of white head. Nose is sugary with hints of yeast. Flavor is molasses, with a brown sugar note and some raisins. Hints of maple. The body is respectable for the style, perhaps a tad thin. Creamy texture with mild carbonation. My overall impression of this brew is just average.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sampled from bottle @ home. It’s been a while since I tried this beer. Because I read an article about the beer being an alias of another beer from Van Steenberge I didn’t rate it. I sent in feedback with a link to the aforementioned article expecting the beer to be aliased. Since this has not happened even though it’s been quite some time I have now decided to rate it anyway. I’ll be brief though, very brief: it’s average.

33cl bottle @ home, gift from Rudy, shared with Fonefan and Ove. Deep ruby red color, decent sized off-white to beige head. Smell malts, sweet, hint of leather. Taste malts, sweet, lightly fruity. Not too bad. Soft carbo, low to medium body.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
330 ml. bottle. Pours a very thick, well retained, light beige head, with heavy lacing, over a slightly hazy reddish brown (SRM 20) body......nose is light toffee/caramel from the malts, minimal hops, plum, raisin esters....taste is malt sweetness initially, with hints of dried fruits, light hop bitterness, raisin, plum, leading to a lingering combined hop, spice bitterness, finishing dry.....mouth feel medium, light astringency, alcohol warmth present, carbonation low. This falls with this malt heavy style, but there are several off flavors in the phenolic end of the spectrum. BJCP 7/3/12/4/6

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Deep brown appearance with small brown head. Aroma is dry fruit, raisins, spice and belgian yeast. Surprisingly small sticky mouthfeel after the aroma. Dry, fruity and light noble hop finish. Overall: easy to drink and enjoy. Miss more mouthfeel and finish.

Nice flavour of dried fruits, coffee and apples. The colour is beautiful brown with not much head. The aroma is not much pleasant but the taste is good.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance: Clear deep nutty brown color with a finger thick tan head. Fine lacing.
Aroma: A bit sweet malty and fruity with some spicy notes.
Palate: Medium body. A bit sweet and a mild bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Malty, mild hoppy and a fine fruity background.
Overall impression: Felt a little bit plain. Would have expected a little bit more powerful ale. Still nice and easy drinkable.
Personal stats: Bottle from Vinmonopolet Oslo - Rosenkrantz’ gate in Oslo, Norway.
