11.2 oz bottle. Pours a clear redish-brown color with a huge white head. I mean massive. Aroma is malts, caramel, with some raisins. A pretty solid abbey dubbel.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Miksu (3887) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - APR 27, 2008
0.33 l bottle, 7 %. Ruby color with big fluffy head. Malty, caramelly and raisiny aroma with hint of roasted malt. Sweetish, malty, caramelly, raisiny and chocolatey flavor with some fruity esters. Fairly soft and creamy palate although very fizzy at the same time. Very clean tasting dubbel but somewhat unexciting. The typical dubbel flavors are here but they are tuned low.

Weak aroma of dirty cherries. Efferevescent brown with a thick tan head. Tastes of very sour cherries. Weak bark finish. Over carbonated, uncomplex, but tasty.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 punainen6 (93) - FINLAND - APR 22, 2008
Beatiful brown coloring with a big foamy head. Flavor promises abit more than the beer delivers as it progresses. Has all the qualities of a classic abbey-dubbel but falls abit short on the finish, Overall a nice bear.

Pours a rubyt brown with a medium head. Plumy fruit aroma carries into the flavour. Very soft fruit flavours with no discernable alc presence. Very drinkable.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 killjoy966 (503) - Washington, USA - APR 18, 2008
Pours reddish-brown (like the picture). Tastes "meaty". Overall, a nice hearty drink. The flavor starts off a bit watery, but picks up once the carbonation kicks in. Finishes with a little hop kick. The ABV is well-hid. One of the better ones I’ve tried from Van Steenberge.

bottle. Hazed ruby brown dubbel w/ very nice sweet fruity undertones. Classical & still complex.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 DrnkMcDermott (2391) - Downers Grove, Illinois, USA - APR 14, 2008
33 cl bottle. Pours a dark brown color, kicks up a big tan head in my tulip glass. Smells lightly sweet without the extra sugar smell of some Belgians. Takes me a while to get to the beer through all that foam, but what I get is a slightly fizzy body surrounding a pretty fresh malt taste. This bottle sat in the un-air-conditioned Foremost Liquors for goodness knows how long, but it’s held up pretty nicely. Definite brown malts at work, with fruitiness and slight tart of apple and vanilla. A bit of stickiness on my lip shows that this is still sweet, but well balanced. Background notes of ginger, lemon and nutmeg, too. A nice, complex brew.
