Pours a dirty looking brown color. Aroma is somewhat sweet and smells kind of like apple juice. Flavor is a litte malty with some roasted characteristics. Slightly fruity/spicy flavor. a little bit of spice and alcohol in the finish.

Pours a hazy reddish brown with an inch thick, frothy, tan head. Quickly dissipates to nothing though. No lace. Smells fruity and yeasty, spiced apples and a wispy sweet maltiness. Taste is very fruity. Sour apple and plum or peach. Tangy and sweet. Lightly metallic. Spicy, like nutmeg and mace. Mouth is crisp and a bit over-carbonated for my liking. Not big at all but smooth with a sweetly sour aftertaste. Very good and very drinkable. Nothing too complex but a tasty dubbel. not a big fan of the style but this would have to be one of my favorites so far.

Bottle... Murky, dark copper (prune juice) ale with a mid-sized, creamy, khaki head. Everlasting retention. The nose is very flemish. Earthy, woodsy and quite acetic. The flavor is mostly buttermilk, light molasses and brown sugar. Medium-bodied and creamy with fizzy carbonation. Astringent, tart, dry finish. Maybe an off-bottle. Too Flemish to be a double. I will give this one another try one day.

Habersham Beverage Warehouse, Savannah, Ga, - 11.2 oz bottle - Pours a murky medium copper witrh a too fluffy off-white head, bubbly head - points off on the appearance if I have to wait five mnuites to drink it! Bit of a spicy aroma with some sweet bubble gum accents. Flavor is smooth, pick up some tangy, ripe fruit notes, a bit of tea and some dates, buyt rather understated and muted. Mouthfeel is thick. Decent Dubbel.

(Bottle 33 cl) Dark brown, very hazy - almost opaque actually. Malty but surprisingly light in body considering the high alcohol volume. Some raisins and dried fruits in the aroma too. Decent indeed but hasn’t got the same sophistication as the besst Dubbels. 060194

Dark opaque brown color, with a thick tan-colored foamy head, with a malty chocolatey character, with a fruity note of raisins in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with roasted malt and a chocolatey note, with burnt caramel, brown sugar, raisiny in a sweet malted accent towards a warmth alcoholic finish.

Medium cloudy brown color with a thin head. Fruity and sour with some dark malt flavors and no hops.

Good looking beer... near opaque, rusty brown body, similar to weak "coffee" as described. Large-bubbled, compact, khaki head. Aromas started as sour fruits with a beefy yeastiness, warming to earthy, chewy, English-malts. Sour start to the flavor with a semi-sweet, malty center and a lingering, sour finish. Well hidden alcohol, although the active carbonation created a dry finish, nonetheless.
