willblake (2160), Belcamp, Maryland, USA Mar 18, 2005 03.17.05 33cl bottle Murky brown pour with medium beige head. Sour bread aromas, cherry. Flavors are plain, a bit sour, sweet and malty, fresh bread. Some raisin and cinnamon. It’s decent enough to drink again but, whatever. Crockett (904), Steelback County, Ontario, Canada Mar 7, 2005 Hazy mahogony pour with a big bubble lasting tan head. Lemony sour, sweet malts and banana bread spiced nose. Fruity, plum and cherry jam. Hops are clean but it is obviously heavier on the malted side. Sweet pears and sour cherry tart. Lots of yeast and brown sugar in the finish. dornoy (679), Lyngby, Denmark Mar 4, 2005 Updated: Jul 3, 2005High creamy tan head on a dark brown body. A strange mixture of sweet and sour, where the sour element is much too obvious to my taste. ChillCoat (1029), Concord, California, USA Mar 2, 2005 Bottled. Thin, murky brown in appearance. Frothy tan head. Big malt aroma with notes of dark fruits and yeast. Sweet, sharp bite to the taste. Raisins and even some cherries. Dry, hoppy aftertaste with a clean finish. A little bit bubbly. Hairofthedog (419), San Diego, California, USA Feb 23, 2005 The aroma was malty w/ dark fermented fruit and coriander. The beer poured a cloudy brownish orange color w/ thick head and lacing. The flavor was soury fermented dark fruit, coriander, malts and a slight citrus. The mouthfeel was well-rounded and smooth w/ a light carbonation. MillStreetMan (152), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Feb 16, 2005 This is not necessarily a great beer, but one I enjoy every time I have it. The nose is very tinny, smelling like rust, but that is only vaguely reflected in the taste. It is very much a Belgian flavour, with the distinct yeastiness inherent in many Belgians. It has a good malty character that I like, but I have to concede little else really distinctive. maeib (4683), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Feb 5, 2005 Bottled bought at The Green Man Stamford. A brown beer with abig white head. The aroma is sweet with malty qualities. The taste is a bit odd with sour malt and chocolate notes. Drinkable but none too enjoyable. Lou18 (1353), West Paterson, New Jersey, USA Jan 27, 2005 Poured a darkish amber brwon, with a huge off white head. Head was creamy and fizzy and tight. Aroma was like brown sugar and caramel. Taste did hiave lots of yeast, maybe too much. Some carbination. Not a great beer, too me, too much yeast, and not much else.
