3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Styles (2014) - Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA - NOV 12, 2004
Pours semi-cloudy dark brown with a HUGE thick bubbly head. Aroma is very sweet roasted malt/sugar/brown sugar. Liitle sour up front, nutty undertones in the middle and a very nice sweet malt finish. Very good overall.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Geiserich (2335) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - NOV 12, 2004
Bottled:<ii>
Aroma is sweet and fruity. Taste has candies but is not too sweet. Sparkling lemonade-taste, fruity. Finish is dry but with only few bitterness. Something astringent and sourish. All in all to vineous.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 pintbypint (1610) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 10, 2004
330ml brown bottle. Red brown colour, head is gerenous, fluffy and off white. Sweet brown sugar aroma. Starts with a slight malt sweetness - notes of light brown sugar and raisins, then gets bit sour tasting, notes of lemon show up near the finish.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Eyedrinkale (3214) - Astoria, New York, USA - NOV 9, 2004
UPDATED: JUL 30, 2005 33 cl bottle. The head is just unreal, large and puffy off white and dense. Maybe the Oerbier glass wasn’t the best choice here. I love making mountain designs when pouring stuff like this. Aroma is both malty and bready along with fruits like plums and cherries. Taste is right up there with the good dubbels with just a bit of sourness and pepper. Taste is cloying with over ripe banana and chocolate. I got more of the yeast flavor in the back end. This stuff is good.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Emil (6070) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - NOV 7, 2004
Red-brown color, light sweet fruity caramel aroma, light sour taste, medium body, light sour finish.

Deep reddish brown, cloudy, with a beige head. Mildly sweet, some ripened bananas, honey, and malt. Kind of dry, alcohol is hidden pretty well, lacks a bit in the body. Not bad.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 dirkules (629) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 2, 2004
Rusty chestnut brown with a full head. Aromatically the same as the trippel but with a tad more chocolate and banana. It’s sweet and clean with no aftertaste that mars the trippel. Honeycomb is present. A bit bitter... but very good.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 eleusis (70) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 24, 2004
Very malty and honey aroma. Blended palate, smooth at first, some alcohol and slight bitter malt aftertaste. Not as good as the triple, but an allright beer.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Steib (613) - Queen Creek, Arizona, USA - OCT 24, 2004
Dark, malty color with a decent head. Fair aroma of dark fruits, malt and a litte caramel. Initial taste is sweet, flavor is subtle. Fairly smooth just the overall character of a double ale isnt there. Hops are faint, malt presense takes over. A drinkable beer just woudnt want to fast on it for 40 days.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 jgb9348 (3491) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - OCT 18, 2004
Hazy, muddy brown coloured body with a dense tan head. Aroma of malt, raisins, caramel and some nuts. Medium-bodied; Odd cardboard flavour with some malt and raisins coming through. Aftertaste dry and bitter-a bit offensive. Overall, decent but not the best dubbel i’ve had! I sampled this 33 cL bottle from a bottle shop purchased in St. Kilda (Melbourne), Australia.
