Bornem Dubbel

330 ml bottle. Finland. Dark reddish brown colour with medium head. Sweet a bit chocolate aroma. Also some chocolate on flavour. It is like cola meets tripel. Not bad, not great!

Pours dark amber brown, malty, molasses, darkfruits, caramel, little spice, little yeasty.

Bottle. Dark brown colour with a medium-sized off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty and spicy. Sweet and malty flavour with notes of spices and hops. Quite good, but maybe a bit too thin.

Shared w/ Juart. Pours dark molasses brown with a slight reddish hue when you look in the light. The head on this was huge; about 1 1/2 times the depth of the beer itself. Head is sort of beige and fizzy for as long as it lasts. Lots of clingy lacing. Aroma is alcohol, prunes, smoky molasses, and a combination of soy sauce and sesame oil. Flavor is a little weak. Good maltiness, but does not have the rich notes I expected. The flavor wanes very quickly on the tongue. Some roasty carbonic flavor with soy. The body is thin and everything really lacks any depth.

Pours a Dark Chestnut color with a medium tan head. Aroma of dark fruits and malt, and some light spices. Taste has medium fruity hoppiness, with good carbonation and a nice long finish. Dark amber body with a tan, lacy head, grassy hops dominate the aroma, very smooth, full bodied ale with a touch of honey on the palate.

11.2 oz stubby bottle. Lightly hazed dark amber with a huge light beige head. Big sweet fruity nose, sweet apple and raisin. Mildly tart flavor, raisin and apple, some honey notes, and caramel and light brown sugar. Fat beige lace. Pretty drinkable dubbel.
