Pours dark molasses brown with a slight reddish hue when you look in the light. The head on this was huge; about 1 1/2 times the depth of the beer itself. Head is sort of beige and fizzy for as long as it lasts. Lots of clingy lacing. Aroma is alcohol, prunes, smoky molasses, and a combination of soy sauce and sesame oil. Flavor is a little weak. Good maltiness, but does not have the rich notes I expected. The flavor wanes very quickly on the tongue. Some roasty carbonic flavor with soy. The body is thin and everything really lacks any depth. joeyplush (333), Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA
