I took a whiff of this and was expecting something special, sadly it was not what I hoping for. Aroma is very fruity and malty. The taste is thin and slightly tangy. Tangy to the point where it is not appealing to the Belgium Beer drinkers.

Pours a deep brown with a frothy 2 inch head
Tastes a little like sweet caramel and honey with a touch of bitterness

Nov 15, 2008 33cl bottle. Dark ruby brown, frothy pale head. Yeasty, quite dry aroma with mild spiciness, cellar, rotten banana and wheat. Like a bad dunkelweizen. Dry herbal flavor, yeast and wheat with a bit acidic, berry-like finish. Quite light bodied, overcarbonated spritzy palate. There’s not much likeness with the standard dubbels here.

Nov 1, 2008 Variety pack item. App: Lovely ruby red colour with a very generous fluffy off-white head. Aroma: Malt, plums, some slight yeast also. Flavour: Wow - much bigger flavour than I was expecting. Alcohol is present, raisins, winter fruits & some definite malt, smoke in the finish too.

Oct 28, 2008 Part of a variety pack. Kind of a light tasting beer for the color. A bit of dark fruit and the expected banana, certainly taste the malt and a little dryness at the end. Easy drinking. Don’t taste a lot of alcohol. Nothing I have to have again, but a fine drink.

Oct 28, 2008 750ml, pours a cloudy brown, with a nice tan head. Flavors of honey, tangy berries, cloves and banana. This is a pretty interesting beer, nicely carbonated, but a little thin on the palate. Very drinkable and it packs a punch. If it were a touch less expensive, it would make for a great session beer.
