Could not taste the strong alcohol but was in aroma. Sweet spices, alcohol, and effervesent carbination malt combination didn’t strike me or my mates bang on. Tart. Lovely head. Dry and unsatisfying aftertaste.

Bottle (330ml). Beer of Belgium Gift pack 4of6. Poured murky reddish-brown with a this fizzy-creamy-foamy beige lasting head. Aroma of sweet fruit, sweet roast malt, even a bit creamy - not terribly smooth, but nice elements. Taste is ripe apple, alcohol bitterness, mild roast malt, a bit spicy - mildly sweet but a bit harsh in the finish. Fizzy, slightly metallic mouthfeel - almost burnt by the bottom of the glass. If I weren’t partial to the style, this would be 3 or lower.

My head was explosive but after come down was steady ring with some live in it. Great color, ruby red with touch of brown. Slightly sour cherry with med roasted malt. Interesting approach to BSAs.

Medium brown color, medium head. Malty, sweet and somewhat nutty. Hoppy, slightly spicy. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is very smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. No alcohol bite, despite 8% alcohol. Nice drinkable beer.

2009-07-23. Dark brown body with a large foamy beige head. Very yeasty aroma, dry malt, blends with sweet malt. (6+) Surprisingly dry malty character with a touch of yeast. (6+) Average palate. 6/4/6/3/12-13 - 3.1 Bottle from LCBO

2004-01-XX. Red amber brown body with a big fluffy white head. Sort of odd flavours mingling about. Thinner body than I like in a dubbel. Not bad but uninspiring. 5/3/5/3/11 - 2.7 Bottle from LCBO

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a 3 finger white head. Aroma and flavor is roasted malt, caramel malts, some hops. Flavor is very malty, some booziness, bitter roasty finish and dark fruit.

Bottle. Head was large fizzy and white which mostly lasted. Good lacing in glass. Body was slightly clear and colour was brown. Aroma was yeast, caramel, light rye bread and dark fruit. Medium bodied with an average carbonation and a very light warming alcoholic texture. Flavour was sweet with light notes of bitterness. Ok Dubbel.
