This beer was a nice surprise. Aroma is quite weak, with caramel, bread, floral, citrus and hints of cheese and bubblegum. Appearance: red, clear body with frothy, tan foam. The taste of this beer is it’s highlight - lightly sweet and sour and medium bitter with a pinch of saltyness. Full bodied, creamy, average carbonation and abrupt finish.

Bottle from Lidl. Pours deep reddish brown. Nose is brown sugar, dried fruits, liquorice, figs. Taste is sweet, candied sugar, light fruits, light bitterness, raisins, plums. Overall, decent but quite sugary. Anyway, quite a winner with Lidl prices.

Dark brown color with big brownish dense head. Aroma of roasted malts, candi sugar, ripe fruits, plum, even some licorice, very nice. Taste of roasted malts, some yeast, again licorice. Bitter at first, then finish more sweet, but well balanced. Medium-strong carbonation, full body. A nice surprise this beer!

Bottle (7.2%), from Lidl. Deep red brown, big fluffy and sustained off white head and muted condition. Figgy and fruity in the nose with some slight musty woodiness and a slightly metallic twang. Slightly thin in the mouth with an estery/fruity yeastiness and a slight oxidized note, a vague suggestion of toast and some muted roasted bitterness. Finish is fruity with some esters and a slight spirity alcohol note.
