Candy malts dominate the aroma with the strong evidence of marsala as well. The flavor reflected this with a candy and malty presence and desserty marsala tones with the possible impression of caramel. DrBeer (777), Danderyd Stockholm, Sweden

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 30, 2005 bottle-pours a hazy brown hue with a sudsy beige head. a considerable amount of funky yeast here in this beer. nice notes of cinammon, clove and dark fruits. this is much better than the tripple. lots of nice red apple flavors with some notes of grape skins as well. as for thie trippel, this beer is not over-carbonated like some people have stated. i would say this is a solid dubbel. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 21, 2002 appearance was classic, darkish brown fading to red at the bottom where the light could sqweeze itself through, tan head that seemed to last a while but not long enough as it disappeared before long, aroma was filled with alcohol, nuttiness, and a maltiness that begged to be tasted, by the time the actual first sip came around, the head had vanished, fizzy/spicy/fizzy (redundant I know), but malty and roasted, alcohol undertones but not severally noticeable, sweet alcohol finish, soda pop-like with a couple shots of alcohol...NOt bad..but not that good either mrkimchee (1414), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
