After having a couple of Belgians that weren’t really up to snuff, I was a bit apprehensive about this. Gladly, I was very pleased with this beer as it really was a solid beer. Aroma was malty sweet, but dig a bit deeper and you can pick up toffee and a bit of fruit. Appearance is dark brown with a reddish tint to it, almost like a coke without the carbonation with an incredibly large grayish looking head. Mouthfeel was very sublime with a creaminess and mildness that was impressive. Flavors in this beer weren’t really complex at all, but what I was able to get were strong notes of dark fruits and malt. Quite enjoyable, easy to drink and light enough to not notice the 8%.

11.2oz bottle. Deep brown color, nice foamy head. Rich malty taste, this is a quality Dubbel. No trace of alcohol. Lots of yeasty tastes to complement the Belgian effervescence. Thick and rich, without being too heavy or overbearing. Nice!

Presentation: It was poured from a 330ml or 11.2oz bottle into a tulip glass. It has a dark cloudy brown color with some deep ruby highlights. The head is huge, thick and has stiff rocky peaks that are light tan in color. The aroma has lovely fruity esters and a roasted malty character as well. The body is heavy and full. In it there is a rich malty base with funky yeast and a dark fruity character. Dark cherries and prune are noted and add pleasant sweet and tart flavors to the brew. The finish has a fairly dry hops presence that adds some light bitterness. It is well carbonated and bites on the tongue, cutting through the heavy slick palate and the 8% abv. gives a mellow warming affect.

Home tasting from a specialty six pack of six different belgium style beers. I was pretty impressed with this full flavored bad boy, the first of the six I tried. Dark brown/amber pour with a very nice head that stuck around for a while and left good lacing. Creamy, malty body with a nice even carbonation and a little bit of a hopped finish to accompany the sweet, full bodied beer that real lent well to the experience.

Smells like dark fruit, raisins, and brown sugar. The taste has dark fruits and chocolate, with just enough sweetness. Nice carbonation makes it refreshing, despite the strong flavor. Not too much alcohol. Very good beer! I might not give it back to Ughsmash...

Good solid tasting beer. Nice beautiful foamy head. The bubbles tingle nicely on your tongue. 8% alcohol but you don’t really feel it. I wouldn’t mind fasting on this beer.

750 ml. Cork shot up and off the ceiling, I had to move, didn’t want it to hit me in the eye. Lots of head. Deep orange, clear in color with a huge head. Nice and fluffy head. Very big fruity aroma, cherries. Tart. Malty and fruity flavor. Kriek like cherry flavor. Well balanced beer. Sweet tasting. Drinkable. Enjoyable.

Dark, oak, cloudy pour with a substantial head. Aroma of spices with a spicy citrusy taste. Malty, but well balanced by the alcohol and carbonation. A bit tart, but still works well. A fine dubbel.

Superb amber colour with a nice foam. Discreet aroma of caramel. Well-balanced, spicy. The finish is sweet and quite short.

750ml. Upon realease of cage, cork shot up off the ceiling like a cannon shot, and the foam began to gush. Orange, clear, huge tan head. Very fruity aroma, musty, with a slight kriek-like touch of sour cherry. Very fruity and malty, with a slight cherry tartness. A little sticky, but balanced by slight tartness. Not sure how old this was, but it was rather interesting even though it may not have been intended this way.
