Aromas of yeast, crystal malt, banana and raisin are noted although a bit faint. Palate is light and fizzy, but unfortunately a bit thin. Flavors of yeast, malt, raisin, figs and some spices make a clean presence, but are a bit febrile and fade quickly. Amazingly with such a lightweight overall presentation, the 8% alcohol is virtually undetectable. In general, not a bad Dubble, but a bit watery and average. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA

Has noticeable candy sugars, follows with a spicy fruitiness, but ends a bit overly sour. Reminded me a bit of a sour mango. Gooner (136), Chatham, Ontario, Canada

You can taste wee bits of the aforementioned flavours on varying sips. Head remains for entire beer. Root beer brown colour. Alcohol content was masked very well. Moderately sweet/rich. Malty, minimal hops. One problem, though. It left a bit of an acidic aftertaste. bhensonb (4406), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Apr 28, 2007 Aroma has some dark fruit, some sweet malt. With halogen backlight the color is light ruby. The beige head is huge. The start is malty dark fruit, backed by a little yeasty spice. Medium+ mouthfeel. Fairly smooth. Very pleasant. Finish is mostly yeasty malt. It’s not sticky, but it’s not all that dry. The hoppy aftertouch is pretty mild. Decent, but perhaps not memorable. heykevin (1269), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
