Plums, Figs and Raisins up front. Large off-white head. Belgian Lace. Toffee and biscuit notes deeper into the tasting. Smooth, no warming, and a nice yeasty, estery overtone. Classic Dubbel.

750 ml caged and corked bottle. Served in a goblet, the beer pours a murky brown/red color with about an inch tan head. Lacing is good, head retention is excellent. The aroma is malty, it smells like dark fruit (raisin, cherry), caramel, and a bit of peppery spice. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there’s also some molasses noticable and a bit of a tart/sour taste which surprisingly works well for this brew. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it has high but soft carbonation which lessens some as the beer warms up. Drinkability is good, it’s easy and enjoyable to drink. I think this is a good overall beer, I’d try it again in the future.

I’m kinda confused by my 3.8 as compaired to the 3.33 average but whatever. Pours a deeps cola/amber with a huge sea foam head. Smells of deep rich malt and a spice that I can’t put my nose on with a hint of sour mash or ripe apple. Flavor is more dark roast malt and a subtle deep fruit all this leaves to be finished by a sharp bitter sour hop. I found this brew to be very complex and compelling.

Hazy chestnut color with a moderate cocoa colored head. Strong yeast aromas that subside as this one warms. Aromas of light, dark fruit and farmhouse. Flavors also tend to develop and come together as this one warms. Starts yeasty and then sweeps back to fruit of plums and vannilla. Finishes with light malt and mild floral hops. A mild and drinkable double.

I found this one to be really enjoyable. Dark, murky reddish brown color with a persistent head. Flavor is all malt but it isn’t too sweet, rather well blanced. Raisins, molasses and brown sugar with a creamy mouthfeel.

The dubbel has a dark brown color like a penny that’s been through too many hands - you thinks it’s a 1974 when it’s really a 1995. Small head with broccoli crowns. Can taste the alcohol overpowering my burrito. Good stuff. Very mild with a chocolate taste the creeps forward as the beer warms. I can slowly drink this while pretending to listen to the droning chatter of of an irritating relative. Now I know why the trappists brew beer.

Dark colour, brownish foam. Spicy, sweet, malty aroma. Flat flavour, little bit spicy. It finishes spicy.
