Caramel brown, but clear, not hazy or cloudy. It has a huge tan colored head. Prickly and thin. I would say overrated. I would say this is a cheap Belgian beer. Mostly malt that gives it a malt liquor bent. Don’t waste your money.

Pours deep copper reddish to dark cherry red, sparkling, light beige head, frothy, thick foam, nice longish lacing. Aroma - dominant yeasty, creamy, a bit wooden, a bit alcohol, strange but malt is barely felt. Taste - darker malt sweet with tones of roasted or toasted malt bitter, a bit sour-sweet, Palate - above medium body, thick texture, mouthfeel is a bit astringent in a good way, high carbonated also. O.A. - nice dubbel but it really lacks character, some unique feature, some intensity. So one time sampling one.

33cl bottle gives a big lightbrown head and a dark brown caramel color. Fresh smell of dark fruit and a bit of alcohol. Sweet initial taste which quickly converts in a very nice dark strong palate of dark fruits which lasts very long and gets better over time.

Good solid tasting beer. Nice beautiful foamy head. The bubbles tingle nicely on your tongue. 8% alcohol but you don’t really feel it. I wouldn’t mind fasting on this beer.

(33o ml bottle). Pours a deep brown with a chunky tan head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel and alcohol. Sweet beginning but a slight sourness and light bitterness at the end. The roasted malts also come out as well with an almost smoky flavor.

Bornem Dubbel has a thin, cream-colored, creamy head and a very bubbly, hazy, golden-brown appearance, with some lacing left behind. The aroma is sweet, bready, caramel, and even yeasty. Taste is sweet, syrupy, brown bread, dates, and a touch of hop bitterness. Alcohol is not so present with this 8% beer. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Bornem Dubbel finishes semi-dry, sweet, and fairly drinkable. Overall, this is a really good beer that grows on one as it is drank down. Check it out! RJT

0.33l bottle. This is a clear heavy deep ruby brown one with a massive dense and lasting, almost fluffy off-white head that’s really leaving some scary lacing down the sides of the glass. Looks really good and inviting. ts not to extreme on the aroma. Soft chocolate paper and some good notes of sweet brown sugar. Not much more to be honest. It has a average+ carbonation level and a good oily mouthfeel. A bit on the sweet side as the aroma suggested. The brown sugar sticks it’s head out, dark caramel, some Easter oranges, hay and something almost spicy. Hard to tell what. Yeah, a good lightdrinkable dubbel. 23.03.2013

Bit hazy amber to ruby with medium beige head. Bit lacing. Aroma.. mostly malts, caramel, kinda chocolate, raisins, yeasty Sweetish with low bitterness. Not bad, but bit disappointing for dubbel. Thou drinkable.
