33cl bottle.
APPEARANCE: gold beer, very much alive! Huge white head full of large bubbles, rather stable even.
NOSE: hops, some yeast, flowery, a nice sweet fruity aroma!
TASTE: rather sweet, little too much carbonation perhaps, rather dry, alcohol noticeable, somewhat bitter.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 angelkostvo (299) - CZECH REPUBLIC - JUN 4, 2013
Yellow color huge white head. Aroma of wet wood, hay, herb, yeast, dough, slightly skunky. Taste is slight sweet-sour, light bitter, coriander flavor to it. Light body, thin to oily texture, average carbonation. Not my kind of tripel
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 zenkis (301) - Ogre, LATVIA - MAY 22, 2013
Pours hazy pale golden with huge white top, diminishing fast. Aroma - at the beginning more floral hops and sweet malt plus warm alcohol pungent, later only malt sweetness stays. a bit honey tones. TAste is sweet malty with good hopping bitter, spicy, astringent on tongue. Medium bodied, fresh, no dry finish. Must rerate in contemporary condition.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 mrhoppy (902) - Santa Clara, California, USA - MAY 15, 2013
A caramel golden yellow. Smells a little soapy to me. Hoppy Tripel. Slight malt about it, but nothing overpowering. Flavors are horse blanket, and citrus. Alcohol vapors and flavors. As for the hops. Maybe a slight tang of Hallertau hops. Slight dry biscuit flavors at the end. Enjoyable.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 EdwinLitzau (49) - NETHERLANDS - MAY 8, 2013
Pretty golden colour, lots of carbonation, big white head. Aroma of cheese. Tastes too sweet. Not that good.
4.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 ronaldtheriot (811) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - APR 23, 2013
Bornem Triple Abbey Ale has a thick, spongy, white head and a hazy (which, becomes even hazier when one swishes and pours in the caked, bottom contents), very bubbly, golden appearance. Decent lacing is left behind. The aroma is fairly harsh- dank, musty grain husk (think Camo Black Ice), some sweetness, a bit of fruitiness (pineapple?), and sugar. Flavor is of alcohol, inexpensive champagne, pepper, pineapple juice, sugar, malt, and a touch of bitterness. Mouthfeel is light and a bit slick, and Bornem Triple Abbey Ale finishes mostly dry, sweet, drinkable, and substantial. Overall, this is a beer that lets one know "where it’s at", and is not for the weak or faint-hearted. Overall, I think it’s just macho and great. A must-buy! RJT
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Jonb5 (241) - Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 18, 2013
330cl bottle, poured into Leffe Chalice.
A: Golden colour, clear, one finger head, great retention + lacing
S: Pronounced phenol and esters.
T: Phenol, esters, mollases, slightly fruity. Had more sweetness than other triples, hid the booze very well apart from a slight burn at the finish.
M: Smooth, light body, well carbonated.
O: Lacked a bit of depth but scores lots of points for the look, aroma and for how well the booze was hidden.

Bottle at Cafe De La Gare, Den Haag. Poured a hazy amber, with a big frothy white head. The aroma is dry and yeasty. The flavour is medium bitter, yeasty, crisp, fresh and alcoholic. Rather like Duvel, but not as good!
