| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 13, 2008 Aroma was horrid, I didn’t even get a yeasty smell. Pours a light honey color with good head. A bit more body than the dubel, but still crisp. The finish has more to it as well, somewhat fruity w/ Mild hops. Not quite as refreshing as the other Bornem, attempts to be more complex but fails. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 10, 2008 Very strong in taste and in alcohol, it was very blonde, but also a little boring. Good head which lasts forever and I liked the dizzy sensation, lets you sleep very pleasantly indeed. esjaygee (1519), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 7, 2008 Hazy golden yellow with a large white head. Aroma of earthy hops, toasted malts and mild fruit. Taste of fruit, apple, pear, sweet malt with a mild alcohol finish though it generally hides the alcohol well. Speaking of which – it seems to hide everything else well too as it’s a bit devoid of flavor and taste. Perhaps that’s why I found it fairly cheap for a Belgian ale.
