Golden shining and soft feeling in the mouth - perfectly balanced taste - full body and heart warming, a splendid aroma, tickling in the nose - hoppy dry long finish.

Pours hazy gold with a tall, chunky light beige head with some tan spots from the sediment that snuck it’s way in there. Head has the ridiculously good retention typical of most tripels. Aroma is citrus, dusty and bready yeast, pepper, spice (clover and ginger mostly), lightly earthy limestone, some cereal grain and straw. Flavor is dusty grain, limestone, citrus, herbal hops, grass, cereal grain, straw and doughy yeast. Some metallic and fusel notes come out as it warms, definitely best to drink fairly cold. Palate is medium bodied with a dry, though fairly oily feel and heavy, but not too sharp carbonation. Not a very good tripel, but not bad overall.

330ml bottle. Pours deep yellow orange. Two finger white head. Aroma is sweet, yeasty, bready and hoppy. Flavor is sweet, yesty, malts, grass, citrus and shows a quite big and round palate. Average belgian brrew...

(11.2 oz bottle). Pours a deep yellow liquid with orange hue. Aroma of rasisin/port, caramel and boozy. Mostly sweet with some bitterness. Oily on the lips and fairly full bodied-more than most triples. This one is heavier-rather than the lighter, more refreshing triples.

Had 2 servings at Chappy’s Tap Room in a special Belgian event served in a 6 ounce mini-wine glass. Clear golden yellow, thick creamy white head produces nice lacing. Surprisingly, I couldn’t pick up much aroma in this at all. What I did pick up was a faint fruity banana aroma. Much more flavor than what I picked up in the smell. A little hops flavor with some bread, banana and Belgian yeast. Sweet ginger notes in the finish. Very well carbonated, maybe a bit too much. Medium bodied with a dry finish. I’d certainly drink this again and would rate it above average. Not outstanding, but still a good selection.

6oz pour on draught at Chappy’s Tap Room and Grille in Dayton, OH. Crisp, cool beer. I like the Triple’s more then most and this one was no exception. I love the light spice flavor of these beers. Aroma of citrus and herbs but not overwhelming. Appearance was very clear golden with minimal head. Taste was very light and smooth, crisp and cold. Nice herb/citrus flavor with spice in this beer. Easy to drink beer.

Well, after rating the double well above average, I’m back to equalibrium with ratebeer on my opinion of the tripel... Home tasting from a specialty six pack of six different belgium style beers, this is the second of the six I tried. Well, after trying Bornem’s wonderful double, I was a bit put off by their tripel. Still a good beer, but much lighter and crisper with a dry, slightly hopped finish that just didn’t sit with me as well as their double. Very well rounder beer, refreshing with a nice carbonation that would make it an enjoyable session beer, but I was much more impressed with it’s malty sweet brother.

330 ml bottle from gift pack. Pours a cloudy pale gold with large, lasting white head and steady stream of fine carbonation. Fairly mild aroma with apple, spice and yeast. Taste of apple, alcohol, coriander and yeast. Some alcohol warmth in the finish. Ok but nothing to get too excited about.
