gam (1068), brisbane, Australia Jun 29, 2008 Wonderful thick frothy head on a canary yellow pour with strong carbonation.Aroma salt sea air, coriander, clove, orange and cinnamon.Flavour orange coriander clove figs.A sweet mellow to a triple that is fairly decent. The alcohol volume is well blotted out by good flavour.Fruity flavours give it a good lift. The finish is tangy fruity with a mellow ending. BritAlesRule (84), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Jun 21, 2008 Massive head on pour. I’ve seen some Wits that were this color. Yeasty, slightly hoppy concoction. Like it’s bretheren, it has mild underlying fruits in the nose, but nothing that jumps out. A slightly bitter bite on first sip that I did not expect. As dry as can be and good balance, so could be a favorite to some. elihapa (1033), Honolulu, California, USA Jun 19, 2008 bottle. Pours a champagne golden color with a huge puffy white head. Aroma of oranges, hops, and yeast, all a touch on the light side for this style. Flavor initially is soft and sweet. I noted especially the yeast and spice base here. Knd of difficult to make out the flavors because the carbonation was so intense. Finished with a dry bitterness of hops, alcohol and earthiness. OK, but lacks crispness and balance. Maria (6056), Thisted, Denmark Jun 16, 2008 Courtesy of Fonefan. Golden with a huge, white head, a bit big-bubbly though. The aroma has sweetness and notes of spice and malt. The flavour has sweetness, notes of spices, yeast, citrus and malt and it ends on a sweet and dry note. abcfan (247), New Jersey, USA Jun 6, 2008 Decent brew. Poured a clear yellow with white head. Aroma of banana, bread and yeast. Sweet taste of fruits and banana. Smooth finish, very drinkable. mgumby10 (1844), Jupiter, Florida, USA Jun 6, 2008 Pours a fairly clear straw gold color, with a small white head. Wasnt digging the nose much at all. Funked out fruits that were out inthe sun too long, with musty malts, and caramel all seemed to mesh together, which didnt really work. The flavor wasnt much better, really musty in its taste. The fruits were drowned out by the malts which gave it almost a rotted flavor. The aftertaste might have been one of the worst Ive had in a while. Almost like spoiled eggs. One of the worst tripels Ive had. Poo poo. sloth (1658), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA Jun 3, 2008 Large white head, good retention and a bit of stringy lace. Hazy blond with a light gold hue, Witish in appearence. Nose is lightly spicey, faint citrus and light doughy notes. Body is lightly medium, full carbonation and lightly oily. Soft fruit flavors, herbally, citrusy with no real peppery notes to speak of. Some light malt notes, light breadyness, and yeast. Lightly sweet malty, spicey finish. Not a bad Tripel at all. Easily drinkable even at 9% ABV. Bottle received in a trade from degarth a loooooong time ago. Thanks Joe, hope all is well. rampmaster (315), Alden, New York, USA Jun 2, 2008 Presentation: Poured from a 330ml/11.2oz bottle in to a tulip glass. It has a hazy light golden yellow color with an excellent, huge white head. Its head is thick and frothy with stiff rocky peaks that last forever. The aroma is fruity and sweet with a nutty malt character and strong funky yeast. There is even a hint of coconut as well. The flavor starts off dry, with earthy yeast that turns malty, sweet and fruity. There is a slight hazelnut flavor along with tropical fruit notes and even a light coconut flavor as well. Hops add a light bitterness and herbal flavor to the finish. Its alcohol adds a pleasant warmth and sophistication to this smooth textured, medium bodied ale. This is a very good triple that has a standout flavor that I really enjoyed.
