Bright yellow, huge fizzy white head that just wont go away. Strong smell of yeast and fruit. Flavor is stronger that most triples. Heavy burning carbonation. Sharp, finish with heavy alcohol present.

bottle Pours a dull, mildly hazy light amber color, half inch of tight white head, active carbonation keeps it around, and leaves plenty of lacing. Aroma shows some boozy, sugary phenols, sweet fruit, some spice, and an odd almost-sour earthiness. Flavor starts with lots of spice, healthy coriander bite, crisp sweet fruity phenols. Some spicy bitterness on the end. Palate is crisp and sharp, with lots of carbonation- maybe a bit too much. Overall, a good and interesting brew- but all the flavors just never seem to get together and work as well as they could.

Light yellow honey with a thin lasting soft white foam. Very fruity aroma, bubblegum, pears, apples. Taste is sweet fruit, pear, apple, more light sweet malts and a honey fruit and bubblegum finish.

Enjoyed via tap in a elongated tulip glass. The beer pours a straw-colored gold, with a nice frothy white head that lasts several minutes. Aromas of pear, some apple, a touch of malt, and just a bit of plum come through in the nose. The palate brings more of the same yeast-derived esters, along with a touch of balancing hop bitterness and a nice dry finish that leaves the aforementioned fruity notes on the tongue. Overall, one of the best tripels I’ve had.

Poursa deep golden color with a big fluffly white head. Aromas and flavors of mild spices, yeast, and a bit of citrus. The palate was too thin, and far as Tripels go this is fairly average.

Vertical Bacon Strips (1616) - Asshat, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 15, 2009
This is an old notebook review from March 2006 apx that I just recently found, so I can only go off of what is written. Got the beer in a 6 pack mixer. The pour created a huge thick monster head, bright white with a brown swirl from the sediment. Beer was a cloudy light orange. The aroma was yeasty and spicy but quite mild. There was a sourness as well. Taste was quite good with lots of spiciness and yeast with a soft fruit flavour. Mouthfeel comment says "a little plain". There is also a comment which I think may coincide with the flavour description that says "chemically / paint". Maybe the easiest drinking tripel I’d had up to that point. Interesting comment mainly due to my early dislike of tripels.

grikmok (132) - Little Rock, Arkansas, USA - JUN 14, 2009
Poured into a trappist glass. Big white head that emitted aromas of spices. Initial flavors of sweet plums followed by spiciness. Palate is not creamy enough in my opinion. Not a bad triple.

11.2 oz bottle. Hazy copper/green color with a thick, lacy white head. Aroma is spicy and citrusy malts. Flavor is a sweet malty, with heavy carbonation, almost like a champagne. Pretty decent, but not spectacular.
