faroeviking (6024), Republica Vikingo de las, Faroe Islands Oct 17, 2007 Bottle. "Old Buccaneer Reserve". The cap popped off with a loud bang and the beer came out as champagne. Pours a very lively hazy golden colour with a huge rather short lasting white head. Aroma of yeast, malt and fruits. Good champagne mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet with a good maltiness, yeast, lots of fruits, hops and alcohol. Dry fruity yeasty finish. A good and very lively tripel. onlyrocknroll (218), Cork, Ireland Oct 15, 2007 I feel some other raters are a bit harsh on this one. Hazy gold with a hugh head. Big malty aroma,. More restrained flavour wise than most tripels, peach and citrus, some subtile background floral notes. I would never have put this at 9%. An okay if underwhelming beer. mtoast (290), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 11, 2007 On tap, from old notes. Hazy golden color with stark white foam, initial flavors of candy sugar and malt give way to a lingering hoppy finish. MaliMisho (208), East Meadow, New York, USA Oct 6, 2007 It had a pale yellow body with medium head, it had a very fruity nose, and the flavor had a strong citrus lemon taste. Beerman6686 (1266), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 4, 2007 Not very good at all for a belgian, but for as beer over all, above average. gwpom (246), Akron, New York, USA Oct 1, 2007 11.2oz bottle out of a variety six pack. Cloudy gold, very heavy, overcarbonated white head (are all belgians overcarbed like that?), and to be honest I couldn’t tell much difference between the Ale, the Double, and the Triple. They all taste very similar. Not a bad beer, but certainly not an example of Belgium’s finest. thomat (666), Göteborg, Sweden Sep 16, 2007 Pale golden with a thick white head. Fruity and flowery tones. Malt and peaches. Medium body with a long, dry finish. BigMilly8 (374), Holiday, Florida, USA Sep 15, 2007 From bottle : Nose of sweetness and fruity, some grapes and apples.. Color of a cloudy and carbonated gold, like a cider, with a huge white rocky head, that leaves nice lacing. Flavors begin with sweetness, green apples, a cider taste, ends with a alcohol taste. Thin-medium body, has a lingering flavor.
