Holdwine (904), Beertimore, Maryland, USA Jul 21, 2007 Nice enough tripel- although nothing to get too excited about. Very sweet and spicy. Hard to believe it comes in at 9%. More drinkable than most tripels, but maybe because it is missing some of the complexity you’d expect. gunnfryd (3539), Kristiansand, Norway Jul 17, 2007 Bottle. (as Old Buccaneer Reserve) Golden / orange colour with a white head. Aroma is spices, alcohol, orange. Flavour is mature apple, hop, spices, orange, alcohol, grain. Nice beer. yngwie (4880), Kristiansand, Norway Jul 12, 2007 Bottle. (as Old Buccaneer Reserve) Hazy, golden-orange body and a white head. Spiced and fruity, mostly orange and lemon, with some alcohol. Sweet flavor as well, some alcohol, spices, fruits and some grain. Full body. Long, sweet and fruity finish with a little spiced touch. Dangerously easy to drink. Nice. (070528) AmazonMatt (284), Panama Jul 6, 2007 Bottle. A very lively bottle, perhaps shaken up in its trip from Belgium to Alaska to Panama. Aroma is excellent yeast, flowers, banana...very alive smelling. However, I think that this smells better than it tastes. The taste seems off balanced with the alcohol dominating (9%). Taste is dominated by some tartness. Average (or below) for the style, but still it is a belgian ale, so better than 80% of the beers out there. Fin (3376), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Jul 3, 2007 Bottle, Ter Posterie, Ypres, Belgium, 25-07-07. Some banana and port aroma’s come thorugh with this hazy light amber coloured beer, very slim white head. Alcohol present throughout, quite sweet some bitterness, Liked it. TheGrandMaster (1846), Auckland, New Zealand Jun 25, 2007 Bottle, very lively and a pale gold colour with a large frothy white head. A sweet yeasty aroma with some spice. A little grainy, with plenty of alcohol which makes it a bit tart. hayduke (1619), Eureka, California, USA Jun 24, 2007 Bottle. Poured a light gold with the huge fluffy white head that faded into big bubble and left good lacing. Nose very spicy with fruits and coriander. Morthfeel rich and somewhat sweet. Flavor was tart, and there was a long dry finish. MadIndian (987), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 4, 2007 Bottle from Canals. Light gold pour with white head. Bread aroma with hints of sweetness and hop. Dry taste and very bland. It was just ok for me.
