rocbyter (902), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA Jun 4, 2007 Crisp apple cider aroma, not like bad beer cider. Hazy golden color with medium to large white head. Light grainy malt taste with a slightly dry finish. brianbuntz (49), Santa Monica, California, USA May 31, 2007 Yeasty smells of bread dough, citrus, apples, and honey. Forms a dense off-white head as it pours a light but murky amber. The citrus and honey are in the flavor, as is a nice maltiness. The alcohol is flavor is not prominent, but this beer lacks the complexity of a really good Belgian tripel. TheBeerBaron (218), Florida, USA May 26, 2007 Bottle. Cloudy straw color, massive white head and constant carbonation. Aroma full of spice such as nutmeg, corriander, and fruits like apple and orange, and finally honey. Like most belgiums, very bubbly and somewhat thicker palate. Taste gravitates toward sour notes like green apple, then a good balance of hops makes a dry finish. I preferred this one to the dubble under the same label. The sour then dry would tire out taste buds after a while, but hey - these triples should not be treated as session beers. Its different and different is alsway good. ScoWRee (275), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA May 19, 2007 Pours a light gold with a very big white foamy head. Aroma hits you as soon as you open the bottle. Bannana, apple yeast..Taste is Fruity, very carbonated, Slightly bitter finish. SynergyXJ (506), Blacksburg, Virginia, USA May 14, 2007 Bottle Hazy golden pour with huge white head and good lacing. Aroma of banana, bit of hops and lemon. Flavor has a bit of banana and lemon too, not as much on the hops. Smooth. Very well hidden alcohol. EithCubes (2140), Indiana, USA May 11, 2007 Bottle. Sweet yeasty aroma with fruit and spice. Touch of cow. Clear yellow body with a violently fizzy large white head. Carbonation is too fierce, even for a tripel. Sweetish and peppery, good deal of spices. Apple juice and yeast with some gritty and very (generically) fruity spice. Alcohol detracts more from its off-flavor than its presence. Big bite from a medium body. Dry, lightly tart, and ciderish aftertaste. muenster (339), Sevierville, Tennessee, USA May 2, 2007 Updated: Nov 17, 2007Bottle. Pours dark gold with a quickly dissipating white head. Aroma is strong on juicy pear, also some darker fruit notes that manage to blend with the high alcohol aroma to make an almost champagne-like aroma. Hmm, interesting. Flavor is a bit spicy, full of dark fruit notes, mild cheese, pears, and sweet maltiness. The mouthfeel is very juicy and slightly warm in the finish from the alcohol. The carbonation level is medium/low, and feels just about right. Somehow this manages to still come across as a thirst quencher, rather than a treasure. JFURYCAT (782), East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 24, 2007 Aroma is sweet and promising, offering bananas, lemons, some hops and warm alcohol. The flavor has some of these qualities but seems way too bitter and sour for me with an almost peppery clove sensation happening. The alcohol is not well hidden so this could be why. It started with a big head and eventually settled to a lacing. I do appreciate the dry aftertaste and detect some luscious fruits there-it makes me want to sip this quickly.
