Magicdave6 (5400), London, Greater London, England Jan 4, 2007 Iv been drinking more triples than normal recently, this wasnt such a good one. Aroma was yeasty touch of lemon but unexciting. Tastw was similar a bit buttery at times spicey yeasty finish. marcus (1826), Sacramento, California, USA Jan 2, 2007 This hazy golden ale poured with a marvelous white head, eliciting a fruit and alcohol aroma. The flavor is malty and fruity, with a carbonated mouthfeel and a rather harsh finish. Dedollewaitor (3625), Odense, Denmark Dec 31, 2006 BB 29/3 -06.: Cloudy golden with a wonderfull thick white head . Aroma and taste of yeast/fruit & alcohol. Filling body which has a warmth from alcohol - pleasant. Soft mouthfeel. Malty sweetness. Nice long lasting hoppy finish! Tasted this at Bruggs Bertje 18 month ago, and tasted it for the 2nd time today. Still Brilliant! DarkStar22769 (100), Ontario, Canada Dec 18, 2006 Poured a hazy straw colour with the substantial head that I am becoming accustomed to with these beers. Aroma is astringent, bordering on rubbery. The alcohol is apparent in the nose. Palate is sharp and biting. Flavour is sour on the end, the front made up of the elements that make me pucker my lips...lemony. Lots of lemon. Very interesting. The palate is too sharp for my enjoyment. probstk (1011), Nepean, Ontario, Canada Dec 15, 2006 300 mL bottle in gift pack from LCBO. App.: pours cloudy golden with a very substantial and long-living, foamy white head. Aroma: a bit of horsey-stink, some honey, fruits (stone fruits and pome fruits), somewhat yeasty. Palate: med bodied, effervescent carbonation and slight astringency. Flav.: spicey, sweet start, something fleeting....maybe the horse-stank(?), surprisingly bitter finish, and not in a good way. Alcohol is definitely present. Not my cup of tea...er, tripel. xav33 (313), Midland, MI, Michigan, USA Dec 14, 2006 Bornem Triple
12 oz bottle
Soft pour in a tulip glass
Unknown bottling (FL 29CD 15:12), beatified 12/06
Poured a hazy straw yellow with a huge white fluffy rocky fully lasting head with excellent lacing.
Smelt of strong sweet apples, peaches, honey, herbs and light barnyard stank and white bread.
Taste was upfront strong sweet and sour apple cider with light honey and bitter grass hops followed by a strong dry bitter stale dusty cobwebs yeast with moderate honey, herbs and on a long finish. Palate was medium bodied, oily, softly carbonated, and moderately alcoholic and astringent.
Overall, it’s easy to drink and satisfyingly flavorful, pungent and stinky. In the winter time, it make me nose and fingers tingly. Rynoplasty (500), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Dec 14, 2006 Pours a hazy peach like color with a thin head in a trappists glass. Aroma is yeasty with a little fruit and alcohol. Taste is sweet, and a little sour as well with a strong finish. Decent Belgian ale but the Dubbel really was better from what I remember. asmithbeer (42), USA Dec 8, 2006 Fizzy golden with lots of head. Slightly sour and fruity aroma. Light fruity flavor. Not bad.
