beerbuzzmontreal (2909), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Dec 19, 2005 Hazy blonde pour with a thin white head. Aroma of pepper, yeast and lemon. The flavor has the same elements of pepper, yeast and lemon. The palate is light and dry. This a competent if not exciting tripel. Aroma is lightly malty, hoppy, yeasty. Flavor is moderately sweet, highly alcoholic, citrus. Maybe I got a bad bottle, but this stuff sucked. Had it for a tasting with 4 friends and all of us agreed. Drain pour! HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Nov 29, 2005 Bottle (330ml). Beer of Belgium Gift pack 2of6. Poured slightly hazy light gold with a very large bright white soapy/foamy lasting head, some lacing left behind. Aroma of coriander, black pepper, apple, mild caramel malt, muted alcohol - pretty standard mild triple. Taste is sharply alcoholic, slightly stale and sour apple, a hint of lemon juice, the coriander’s there as well as the standard beldian wit-ashiness I always get. Mouthfeel is a touch watery, lively and sugary. Drinkable and forgettable. mrnutsnbolts (204), Berkeley, California, USA Nov 28, 2005 Bottle. Pours a hazy gold color with a HUGE white head. I poured it a while ago, but it’s still settling. Tons of carbonation, smells slightly vinous, like cider, and alcohol. Tastes like sour apple cider. Fairly dry, not sweet like other triple’s I’ve tasted. I’m not feeling too fond of this, perhaps I’ll revisit it later. elektrogeist (158), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Nov 28, 2005 Wonderful flowery-apple aroma out of this one, but you have to let it sit for a while for the violent carbon dioxide and thick creamy head to subside. Some shall say the apple flavor/scent is undesirable.. but I think the amount here makes it work very well. Gets better as you drink it, but after all it’s 9 percent! ;)
Recommended, if you can find it. MarkoR (224), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 27, 2005 Nice golden colour. Pure white foamy head. A good beer, but a bit too much carbonation for me. Spice flavor. Hint of hops. MoritzF (4863), Bochum, Germany Nov 27, 2005 (bottle) Slightly hazy yellow colour with a frothy white medium head. Strong pear fruity and yeasty aroma. Bitterfruity flavour, medium body, lively carbonation. Sweet malty and fruity taste with yeasts, dry and fruity, a bit vinous (Sherry), light bitter, slightly spicy finish with obvious hints of alcohol. Definitely not uninteresting but a bit strange Triple.
