mike mcneil (660), St Augustine, Florida, USA May 7, 2005 Pours with a generous, frothy head over a hazy, pale yellow body. Faint aromas of pear, apple, lemon and yeast barely come through. Appropriate fizzy mouthfeel, but a bit watery. Flavors of spice, banana, apple and peach are a bit restrained but clean and enjoyable. Overall a "just OK" triple...a bit of a lightweight in that category. Long arrière goût. Palette: Corps moyen avec une texture huileuse. Forte effervescence en bouche. Arrière goût d’agrumes. J’ai été agréablement surpris par cette bière. (Rating #134) bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Apr 19, 2005 (Bottle) Pours a lightly cloudy pale yellow body with a medium-sized white head. Aroma of humid morning in corn field and some straw. Flavor of yeast and alcohol. szkot (100), Minnesota, USA Apr 10, 2005 Pours yellow with a huge white head. Aroma is unremarkable. The only thing I gather is a sourness. Taste is slightly of apples, but there’s that sourness in the aftertaste. Not a beer I will seek out again. AlphaOne (142), Australia Apr 10, 2005 Slightly reddish hazy golden, large frothy head, high carb. Spicy, winey fruits, wheaty tartness, candyish and peppery with pear and flowers. Flavour is a little toffeish rich, spicy apricot and apples, spicy sour dryness. Mklein818 (165), Etterbeek, Virginia, Belgium Apr 7, 2005 Lacking in depth and body for a true tripel, even though it’s brewed at tripel strength. Unusually bitter and dry, a bit harsh but still a recognizable Belgian. bitter (1137), Henderson, Nevada, USA Apr 5, 2005 nice huge pour of hazy yellow beer with poofy ’watch yourself’ white head. nose of apples and belgium yeast. mouth tingly on the tongue with a white beer character of spice and bananas , apples and honey. nice dry easy to drink beer with some well balanced flavors. couldnt detect 9 abv at all. Bockyhorsey (2487), Mesa, Arizona, USA Apr 4, 2005 This is a lively carbonated beer unless mine was shook up while being put on the shelf. Opened the bottle and it started to bubble out like a bottle of champagne. Pour was a yellow body with big cloud like head. Aroma was of fermented fruit. Detected slight bitter spicy flavor with a somewhat dry finish. Never seen this before. On the bottom of the glass carbonation was funneling up like a volcano about to burst that big cloud head.
