RaphaelN (195), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Mar 27, 2009 Bottle from LCBO. Citrusy aroma with some dough, and barley. Tastes of orange peel, cinnamon, coriander and a tad bit of fennel. Intense frothy and white head requires a careful pour. Laces very well on the glass. A very well-made brew. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA Mar 27, 2009 Bottle. Pours golden with short lived white head. Smell is fruity and floral with honeysuckle, yeast and light alcohol. Taste is watery with floral fruity, non-descript flavors and light alcohol. A bit sweet in the finish with a yeasty flavor. Not terrible, but not something I particularly care for. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA Mar 26, 2009 Bottle at the Seventh Annual Richmond Beer Dig on 03/08/2009. Cloudy white body with a small off-white head. Sweet spice and faint caramel aroma. Sweet spice and caramel flavor with some belgian notes. Medium body with moderately high carbonation.
thegreenrooster (1811), St.louis, Missouri, USA Mar 20, 2009 Pour is a cloudy yellow with a large white head. Aroma has some vanilla yeastyness but not much else. Flavor is a little creamy with some pepper and ass kicking alcohol finish. This does not hide the alcohol at all. It got a little better as it warmed with some fruitness coming through but this is no where near a good triple. Yves (989), Beerse, Belgium Mar 14, 2009 Clear blond coloured beer with large diminishing white hea and lots of carbonation visible. Full hopped and alcoholic aroma. Full sparkling palate slightly creamy. Finish is bitter more bitter bitterst with a bit too much alcohol taste. astrofrk (218), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Mar 14, 2009 Deep yellow. Fast, soapy head. Aroma: Yeast, lemon. Flavor: Pepper, spices, alcahol, yeast, lemon. Alcahol finish.
This one doesn’t try to hide the alcahol.
Over-rated! microakes (94), Canada Mar 7, 2009 Pale, cloudy, citrus notes in the nose. Not so much in the flavour... more like the rind than the fruit. Not going to make a new favourite belgian but a solid drink nonetheless. GJF (480), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA Mar 6, 2009 This seems to be a bit underrated here--I think it’s a solid triple. A bit of citrus and a good dose of carmel malts. Floral hop finish. Quite tasty in my book.
