SDalkoholic (1186), Chula Vista, California, USA Dec 9, 2004 Frothy and fluffy head with a tinted gold color. A bit of rotten fruit in the aroma. A sour flavor of apple and grape and a tiny share of banana. Dry finish like it says with a acidic overtone.
Hoss (602), Florida, USA Dec 5, 2004 Did not find the alcohol overwhelming but nicely warming on the coldest day so far. Does not have the head it’s brother does. Beer Snob (378), Ontario, Canada Nov 29, 2004 Very smooth for 9%, but nothing special. Smells nice, slightly warming and a hint of hops. Next... bierkoning (5989), La Tropica, Netherlands Nov 25, 2004 Updated: Jan 13, 200675 cl bottle. Best until feb 28, 2004. Still a good head. Malty aroma with some peach and pepper. Sweetish, malty with an upcoming sherry flavor. Some remaining hopbitterness. Alcohol present. Quite OK.
Fresh bottle: soft citrusaroma. yeasty, citric flavor. Slightly alcoholic. On the thin side. Fruity character. lamas (709), Adams Morgan, Washington DC, USA Nov 20, 2004 11.2 oz bottle. Pours a dirty gold with thick white head that dissipates quickly. High carbonation does not take away from the sweetness. Quite sweet and spicy and I can taste those bananas. Taste gives way to a nice warm finish. Toward the end of the bottle however I’m starting to notice the sourness. Pailhead (2572), Allen Park, Michigan, USA Nov 14, 2004 Bottle: Real sweet and spicey aroma. Pours a hazy light gold with a huge white head with great retention. Very sweet up front. Some banana and apple in there. Still sweet with a little tart and spice in the finish. Some light hops and light alcohol in the finish. Styles (1653), Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA Nov 12, 2004 Pours hazy golden in color. Strong orange peel slightly sour aroma. Some kind of fruity nut taste I can’t pinpoint with a sour finish. Almost skunky. Liked the double much better. ಠַಠ (1375), San Francisco, California, USA Nov 12, 2004 Bottle. Slightly hazy yellow, some nice looking head. Sour fruity aroma, which goes well into the flavor. A passable triple.
